Alastair couldn't justify taking more time off of work, after the last couple of months, but he did take a change of clothes with him and zip straight over at five. Dinner? Eh, they'd figure something out! What mattered was that he was going to spend every last minute he could with his boyfriend, and lavish him with everything just like he promised. And so he showed up as soon as he could, his work clothes stuffed in a bag strapped to his motorcycle and his best assets showing off in tight jeans and a slinky shirt. Before he could even get a drink, he hunted Kiryu down and prowled up to hug him from behind. "...hey baby..."

Kiryu was out on the dance floor with a small group of very normal looking people, so he wasn't that hard to spot (with his hair? he practically glowed under the blacklights). Alastair's sudden appearance startled him a bit, but he quickly relaxed and tilted his head back to kiss Alastair's cheek.

"Hey. I was wondering how long you'd make me wait."

"Got here as soon as I could." Alastair threw a smirk at the group of people around them, as if to proudly announce that Kiryu was his and they'd best not get any ideas. He paused to look around for Shockwave, and then dared to kiss his partner back. "There. Now we can get this party started right."

"Yeah. Can't be a good party without you~" Kiryu chuckled and leaned back against him, hugging his arms close. "Have you gotten anything to drink yet?"

Well, eventually, Kiryu made his way over to their little corner of the club and Bakura. And Bakura's clothes. That he didn't recognize, but like hell was he going to acknowledge it. That week had not been one he wanted to remember.

The cake, though...that was something he could remark on, once he was close enough for Bakura to hear him. "Need any help with that, Bakura?"

Kiryu blinked a little and took the present with a bit of surprise; he'd expected cake or food of some kind, but not anything more than that. He'd figured the cake would be enough of a present.

"...You got me a present too?"

DJ BRUNO HMMMMMMM? donttasemebro April 16 2011, 06:39:27 UTC
It hadn't occurred to Bruno until a couple days after Kiryu's message that he had never actually been to a club before, and didn't really have any idea how you... well... clubbed. But by then he'd felt kind of silly about the prospect of asking Kiryu or Alastair, and upon reflection he'd figured that blindly googling about it might just end in disaster.

So about an hour after he got out of work (he had no firm idea when to show up either, so he pretty much just drove home from work, changed at then drove here) he made his way into the club just wearing his regular casual clothes. Which may or may not have been a good idea, because as soon as he walked in his jacket and the white stripe on his t-shirt lit up like Christmas under the blacklights.

On the other hand, it probably matched very nicely with the metaphorical blinking neon sign over his head that read "FRESH MEAT".

Hey, you know what else kind of glows under those lights? This guy's hair. Which makes him pretty easy to spot out there on the floor. Or when he finally spotted Bruno and started heading over to greet him and maybe help him out.

Not quickly, because he's kind of a jerk like that sometimes, but eventually he got close enough to wave and make it clear than Bruno was his final destination.

"Hey! you found your way here okay?"

Bruno did catch sight of the glowing hair out on the dance floor after a minute (first he was busy staring at everything else that was new and weird about this place, which was... everything) but it actually took him a few moments for it to hit him that it was Kiryu. White hair on 20-somethings was a lot less unusual back in their world, after all.

About then was when he saw Kiryu waving, and he gladly scooted nearer to him through the crowd. "Yeah!" he half-shouted over the music, "yeah, I, uh, got here fine."

Kiryu had to fight to keep from snickering too much as Bruno got closer. He had figured that this would be something pretty new to Bruno, and while he would have been very plesently surprised if that weren't the case, this baffled, overwhelmed look he had right now was pretty hilarious. And endering. Like some kind of dog.

Really, Bruno reminded him of a dog quite a bit. That was probably why he couldn't just hate him like he'd wanted to.

"So what do you think?" Kiryu asked, turning his mirth into a bright grin. "Pretty great, huh?"

Trowa had not been to Dancitron in at least a year and a half; he hadn't even been aware that it still operated until the invitation post mentioned it. He'd debated going at all, given how much it still stung him to think about Soundwave... but that was his own problem, not Kiryu's, and so Trowa wouldn't punish the guy over something that wasn't even his fault. It didn't seem like the sort of present that went over well.

Not that he knew what kind of things Kiryu would have wanted. He'd have to figure that out and make up for the lack of gift afterward.

Having spent enough late nights and early mornings in similar places in order to watch people, Trowa dressed in a way that was very middling, seeking to keep from attracting too much attention while failing to blend completely into the background. Hell, if not for his trademark bangs, it would probably have been impossible for anyone in the Hell Towers group to notice he'd arrived at all.

...Well. Those, and the very brief angry look he gave the back of Alastair's head.

He stumbled across Trowa almost by accident--he'd taken a moment when Alastair was busy to wander around the clue and see if anyone else had shown up that he might know. And lo and behold, there was Trowa. He had to admit, he was a little surprised; Trowa had sounded like he might come, but he could have always decided that he had better things to do. Or that he didn't want to be around Alastair that long ( ... )

It was something he said he wouldn't miss, and Shockwave would keep true to that, slipping into Dancitron already attempting to ignore the loud music. He never really understood how Soundwave had enjoyed this kind of thing. He would much rather the place if it were quiet, like when it was empty. Or if Soundwave was still around and could be there as well. But this was about Kiryu.

An excellent honorary Decepticon, and a good friend.

Interesting how such a short time as a human could give him those. Friends.

The scientist made his way over to the bar, taking a seat. He'd speak to Kiryu later, as a partying Shockwave was rare and letting the child have a good time was generally the purpose of such celebrations.

Bruno, for his part, was actually getting to kinda like the music. But pretty much everything else about this place-- the lights, the loudness, the sheer people-per-square-foot ratio, the... fact that he'd already gotten asked to dance by one or two slightly drunk women and men-- was adding up to make him feel really, really out of his depth. So as much to catch his metaphorical breath as for any other reason, Bruno scootched his way over and sat down in an empty seat at the bar.

It hadn't escaped his notice that the guy he was sitting down next to was probably an import, judging by his hair (although that definitely wasn't as sure a sign as usual, in this crowd), but it didn't occur to him that he might know the guy either. He'd just been half-consciously seeking out something a little more familiar in all this.

So Shockwave now had a man about Kiryu's age with royal blue hair slipping casually and silently into the seat next to him and curiously studying the drink selection on the wall behind the bar.

why hello notsoloyal April 27 2011, 06:13:27 UTC
Recognition of the boy that seemed to just plop down in the seat next to him was almost immediate. You never forgot someone who did not know how to properly drink tea. It was also quite rare to find someone who did not know how to drink tea in the first place.

He was easy to remember.

And most likely a friend of Kiryu's. Most of the imPorts that were in Dancitron, from what he could tell, were around because of the birthday boy.

"Are you even old enough to drink?"

Human aging. So hard to figure out when no dissecting them.

Well, eventually Kiryu had to make his way over to the bar again. Shockwave's gift of free drinks had to be taken full advantage of.

And of course, when he saw Shockwave was there, he made a direct beeline for him and flopped down onto the seat beside him. "Hey."
