Seras had decided to walk a beat that night for her shift. After being trapped in that hotel for four days she wanted to be outside as much as possible. Her route took her through the park and she was pleasantly surprised to see Zoidberg there walking...a dog? Well, she had seen stranger things before. Jogging to catch up to the pair she settled into their pace once she was alongside them. "Didn't think I'd see you out here. Got over your fear of Santa?"

"Seras!" Zoidberg clapped his claws excitedly, turning to the puppy, to hold her up for an introduction. "Bingo, this is Seras! She's a close, personal friend! And this is Bingo, my loyal hound!"

He sets the dog back down on the ground, all starry-eyed and warm from his previous mistletoe experiences. "We're still frightened of Santa, but Red Queen says Bingo needs exercise, so here we are! And why not! It's a beautiful day!"

"Hello Bingo," Seras said as she waved at the dog. She would have bent down to pet it, but she still wasn't sure how it might react to her being undead. Not well, she suspected. "It really is a nice evening. Especially after being locked up in that hotel for so long. It's why I asked to patrol tonight. You wouldn't mind if I did a bit of that with you two for a while would you?"

He blinked back a wistful, misty-eyed expression, one which slowly turned into the Decapodian approximation of a smile. "We would be honored to accompany you, wouldn't we!" Bingo seemed more interested in eating some snow. "Come, let us scuttle!"

Oops it was supposed to be lobster hugs, oh well!

Seras smiled and started walking alongside them. It wasn't long before they passed under a tree with one of the mischievous bundles of mistletoe hanging from its branches. Seras, however, failed to notice this. What she did notice was a sudden desire to hug Zoidberg. She tried to ignore it, but finally she gave in, reached over and gave Zoidberg a quick squeeze.

What were the holidays doing to her?

Well, that was quite a surprise! Zoidberg wasn't sure how to react to the sudden cuddle, but after a second he recalled that he was supposed to hug back! After all, that's what Eks-mas spirit was all about!

"How kind of you!" He cooed, mouth frills petting her hair (and perhaps searching for crumbs of some kind...) "Merry Eks-mas, Seras!"

Okay, the frills in her hair were weird, really weird, but she supposed he was just trying to be affectionate. Gently she patted his arm, hoping it would make him let go. "Merry Christmas, Zoidberg."

He gave her one last squeeze, cooing as their embrace ended. Then suddenly, he was overcome by the urge to vomit from his saltwater and freshwater stomachs. Luckily none of the water and/or sea life splattered on Seras or Bingo, though there were now sea cucumbers and algae in the snow just inches away, along with large quantities of water.

"It's so wonderful, I couldn't help but vomit!"

"Ughhhh!" Seras recoiled as Zoidberg vomited. "What the hell? God! At least you didn't get any on me, but ughhh!"

"That's how my species expresses great happiness!" He said enthusiastically. Bingo was sniffing the puddles, but even she found them to be too disgusting and turned her nose up at them. "It's all so heartwarming!"

"Really? That's.....," Seras drifted off, deciding that she really didn't want to offend Zoidberg especially since he seemed so happy right now. "I guess I know to watch out next time."

"See that you do!" Zoidberg said firmly, but happily, frills wriggling as he "smiled" again. Seras was such a nice friend, and he was so pleased that he was becoming a useful and popular member of the community. If his friends could see him now!

Just then, Bingo started barking, trying to get their attention. "What's that boy? You want a cuddle from Miss Seras as well?"

Seras looked down at the puppy and smiled. It was certainly nice to have see an animal that wasn't afraid of her. "Well if Bingo really wants one I suppose I could."

Reaching out, she gave the dog a gentle scratch behind the ears before she attempted to pick it up.

Zoidberg looked like a proud grandmother, beaming at Seras and the puppy. They were so adorable together, it almost made him want to vomit all over again. But he was able to contain himself, just barely, and he settled for gently patting Bingo's head while Seras held him.

"Hooray! Bingo, you've made your very own friend!"

"I guess Bingo has," Seras said as she laughed and gave the puppy a gentle scratch behind the ears. Gently, she set the puppy back down and looked up at Zoidberg, beaming. It was a such a normal thing to do, it made her feel like just a ordinary person again. Which was exactly what made it so important to her. "Thank you."
