Jack is captured ctu_savior December 16 2010, 20:58:43 UTC
When the assault begins, Jack is bent over a laptop in the room he shares with Frank, working on piecing together connections between Arius and Sully that he can use. The moment he hears shots and approaching rotors, he closes it and draws his weapon, a cold feeling growing in his gut. Drawing aside the window curtain, he crouches and looks outside just in time to see the Jeeps rolling up. As he looks upwards, searching for the helicopter, he begins posting a warning on his communicator. “All team members, the hotel has been compromised, we are under attack, get out now! I repeat ( ... )

Geddoe was coming to the lobby in the elevator when the fracas began. The doors slid open at the instant of the first burst of gunfire that took out the desk clerk, startling him and driving him instantly into action. He threw himself sideways out of view before any shots could be fired in his direction, and then slammed a fist on the "close doors" button. Fortunately, the attackers only saw an empty elevator which then closed, as elevators sometimes did on the first floor of hotels.

Slapping the button for the floor their rooms were on, Geddoe quickly calculated his reaction. They were under attack, it didn't matter why or from who - an attack would hit anyone in the way, friend or foe or civilian. He reached for the comm in his back pocket, but he hadn't learned how to properly use the secret filters, so he decided against calling out to his team to warn them that way. Such a call might end up very, very public. There was no time, he needed to get back to his room and grab Wild Geese and warn the others ( ... )

Booga perked up, hearing the fire alarm and putting out his roach on the bedstand. Mother of pearl, the fuck? Was the building on fire? He heard the helicopter and rolled off the bed, grabbing his baretta, strapping a rifle over his shoulder and grabbing his sweet antique revolver and shoving it in his holster. Ammo? Check. He grabbed a special kind of satchel and strapped it on. This couldn't be good.

On his way out he saw Wild Geese against the wall and despite his better judgement to leave it there, he grabbed it. He'll find Geddoe, then take care of this the best he can.

Jack. Fuck. Gotta find Jack.

Booga ran out the door and rushed down the hall. Jack was on an upper level, right? Right. His eyes got big, seeing Geddoe at the end of the hall. "HEY MERC', HEADS UP!" Toss!

Geddoe skidded to a halt and reached to catch the sword being flung to him, almost fumbling it at the last second but finally taking it firmly. He didn't even strap it on, he simply yanked it from the leather sheath and left that on the floor. "Booga! We're under attack," he reported. "Gunmen in the lobby. Find the others!"

Booga secured his hat on and tipped the brim. "Got it." He grabbed his beretta tight. "Elevators are shut down?" Booga walked ahead to the door marked 'stairs' and kicked it open, peeking down to see a group of armed men shuffling up the stairs. He started shooting fast with a grunt, using the door as a shield. "You try talking to bossman yet?"

The moment Frank heard the helicopter, he moved to throw on his armor and grab his gear. He needed to round up the others, and fast. There was only one way out of an ambush like this, you shot your way out. Concentrated your firepower until a hole opened up and then hauling ass through it. Good thing he'd remembered to bring the flashbangs and smoke grenades.

Kitted up, Frank headed out of his room, looking for the rest of the team. Unfortunately, the mercs were faster than he'd expected, and he ran into one at the top of the stairs. Opening fire as he fell back, Frank kicked in the nearest room door and dove inside for cover.

Finally out of drag, Sheldon was donning his customary black leather and gloves. He couldn't get the acrylic nails off. On the rooftop of an adjacent building, he was picking off runners one by one with a rifle and scope. Communication was out of the question and since he couldn't see inside the hotel, it was better to make sure that no one else got inside. His climbing skills came in handy. Even better was his heightened senses and accuracy and using them at their peak would help other stay alive ( ... )

AFTER THE FIGHT trueltning_fury December 18 2010, 06:38:34 UTC
Once the team had been able to regroup, Geddoe had the distinct displeasure of telling them what he and Booga had discovered in Jack's room. Had he escaped, the captain surmised, he would have been able to find them and reconnect. But none of the places they had been in town, not even the garage where they had held Arius, showed sign that he had gone there to hide. And then there was the comm found in his room.

"We have to assume the worst," Geddoe concluded. "He's been killed or captured. That means we need to be prepared to move swiftly to complete this mission without him. To that end..." He looked sternly around the group. "I will take command for now."
