She was getting settled. As much as she settled anywhere. She still hadn't let Josh talk her into registering for classes, but she kept out of trouble, didn't tease him too much and occasionally picked up her room. Dishes tended to get a rise out of her, but she didn't mind laundry and she was learning how to cook.
Cassie was starting to feel like she had a home again. Like she belonged. It scared the hell out of her. It was also the best she'd felt since Nick left.
