[man. the temperature hadn't really ever been much of an issue back when his skin was insensitive stone. summer, too, wasn't as oppressive as the bite that the air had been getting lately. zel's meager wardrobe was definitely not equipped for what was to come, let alone the evenings. he was going to have to bite the bullet and actually buy something clothes-related (instead of just taking shameless advantage of charity bins).

not that it was such a horrible option. shopping was normal. he was normal. it could work. he was...fairly determined it wasn't a problem.

the morale was dropping rather rapidly, though, and altogether plummeted with his horrible mistake in shops. nobody labels their stores appropriately in this stupid city!

that was the flustered, unhappy state that zelgadis was to be found in, skulking close to the windows and walls along the block with his hands stuffed in his pockets (leaving the comm unattended therein would do nothing but force him to take another swandive to catch it and make an idiot of himself) and his gaze a little less than attentive to his quest. he almost missed the bit of not-so-normal white in his peripheral because of it, but even a cured zelgadis was an observant one; he'd give it a second look.]

[Kaworu was distracted, to say the least. Too focused on his own problem at that moment to notice any familiar faces -- it took him a while before his eyes met Zelgadis'. He couldn't hide the frown; the feeling of discomfort seemed to aggravate with every other step... Needless to say it affected his mood in turn.

Kaworu eventually managed to force a smile.]

... You again. [He looked around Zelgadis before continuing.]

Are you following me?

[being starved for attention while also being insanely reluctant to have a conversation was a bad mix. of course, catching the agitation (but only just so) on kaworu's face was really helping zel decide whether to stay or go.

but of course then the guy starts talking to him and means of escape become few and altogether awkward.

much like his reply and the look on his face. his shoulders shrug up, slightly and uncertainly defensive.]

N. No. I didn't even know you were going this way.

[Kaworu tried to maintain his usual demeanor. Smile or not, anyone who had met him before could easily spot there was something different about him.]

What are you doing here, then?

[Kaworu's eyes are still locked on Zelgadis', even when he interrupts his answer. He looks to the side and steps away accordingly to let the pedestrians pass - gotta be careful with yo body rn. As soon as the crowd numbers down, he gets ready to pick the conversation back up. He can only go as far as opening his mouth to speak before one final pedestrian comes running and screaming hysterically. He/she/it seems to have accidentally targeted Kaworu! And basically just crashes into him, falls on his/her/its knees, quickly gets back up and proceeds to announce his/her/its state of panic to the rest of the world. Most of the cityzen's attention follow it - Kaworu is left behind with a hand clutching his victimized arm.

'This is not good.']
