Paul wandered the streets, not really knowing where he was headed. He kept hearing a voice in his head, asking questions, and giving orders. One order, above all, rang clearly in his mind as he pressed the heels of his palms into his eyes.
You will go to the police, and confess all you have told me. Only then will you be useful to me, and allowed to live.
The command was punctuated by a dark, sinister laugh that had shaken him to his very core. Whoever it was, was crazy, and meant what they said. Blinking through bleary vision, he stared as he found himself standing dumbly up at the doorway of 1 Police Way. His headache eased slightly at the sight, but as he balked at the idea of going in willingly, the pain raged again. Dumbly, his feet moved him forward, swinging like lead weights on the ends of his legs.
