Walking in the park was particularly lonely when one had grown accustomed to constant company. These days, Wanda was rather at a loss for activities while Eli was at work and Gemma at school, and thus she found herself in the park she had, until recently, frequented with Pietro, trying to admire the summer foliage and fat, spotty pigeons but struggling to muster any enthusiasm for distraction.
However, when she saw a little boy blocking a section of the path with a truly impressive assortment of what she recognized, after a moment, as childhood building materials, Wanda found herself intrigued enough to approach, smile cautious when she addressed him.
"Oh, you know, a spaceship," Calvin replied offhandedly, not even looking at her. He was absorbed with cutting a rectangle in one side of a box and scotch-taping plastic film over it. Spaceships needed windows after all.
"Uhhhhh..." He frowned. "That parts kinda still in the conceptual stages, actually. Nobody seems to have a spare rocket booster lying around. I was thinking of putting wheels on it and using downwards momentum to slingshot myself into orbit. I'd need wheels for landing anyway."
"Of course I could make my own," Calvin said as though this should be obvious and making a rocket booster was something anyone ought to be able to do. "But rockets need fuel and ignitions to produce thrust, and Harvey will flay me if I ask for some kerosene." He finally looked at Wanda, properly acknowledging her for the first time. "Hey, do you have any kerosene I can borrow?"

"What are you making?"
