You know, I'm all for incorporating elements of classic fiction into everyday life. It if weren't impractical as shit and contribute to a good number of health problems (not to mention get me a bunch of shit for being a misogynist which totally isn't true, by the way), I'd even suggest the revival of the corset. Because honestly, no one can tell ( Read more... )

We haven't gotten over it. We're just trying to push through the aftermath of it.

People were injured, others lost their minds and there's more property damage than I can shake a stick at. Just because we're not talking about it in public places doesn't mean we're not doing anything. Quite the opposite, in fact.

Some people are doing something about it sure. But that's a relatively small number compared to who all is here and posting on the network. Still, glad to hear someone not just telling me to sit down and shut up.

You shouldn't sit down and shut up. These are things that should be brought up.

And you're right, what good are the heroes if we desert the people we say we're here to protect when they need us most?

No good at all.

So, Miss Hero, what do you think about infrastructure in a city this size?

It's Ms. Marvel.

And I assume you mean the heroic infrastructure?

Ms. Marvel. Right.

Any of the above. If the people don't have a community supporting them they turn to crime, can't deal with supernatural disasters (and apparently that's a thing here). And if the so-called heroes aren't talking, they can't protect the people when it comes to that.

Sorry to bitch at you directly, since, not gonna lie, you've been the most reasonable of all of those goddamn brain donors, but seriously. This shit happening has to mean something to somebody.

It means a lot to a lot of people. Before Halloween was even over, a teammate and I were texting each other about the extent of the property damage and how we were going to help the clean-up after we ourselves managed to get cleaned up and rested up from the fights and the bit of immediate aftermath he'd been dealing with. We just haven't been very public with it.

As for the infrastructure, I think we've got too many capes in one city. If we were organized as heroes, if we had some of the teams we had back home, if we had a purpose, it would be easier for us to care. But there's not enough threats like the one on Halloween for us to justify putting together teams and constantly training and building a reputation with the public. All we'd do is sit on our hands ( ... )

[Hold the phone. He's not being told off for this. Woah.]

Well umm. I'm shit when it comes to fighting superhumans, so uhh. There's that.

But if you ever need info on the drug trade, I might know a guy.

[ he's kind of reminding her of a few people with this, so she's a little more apt to listen. ]

There's a trick to it.

I'd be interested in talking to your guy sometime.

Yeah, no joke.

I've got plans tonight, but I'll set up a meet for sometime in the week if you want.

Give me more than two days' notice as to where and when, and we're golden.
