[ pam's sitting by her open window in one of those big, comfy sweaters that have somehow become trendy. the sleeves are just a bit too big, and she's fiddling with one absently as she speaks. ]
So um. I went to art school once. A few years ago. And I used to dream all the time about leaving Scranton and getting an apartment in the city and becoming a famous painter. This was a long time ago. When I was still a receptionist.
[ pause. ]
Well, maybe not famous. A respectable painter. You know, the kind who only gets really famous posthumously maybe. Or something. That really wasn't the important part. The important part was the painting and the city.
[ there's another pause, then pam looks away from the comm and laughs a little to herself. ]
I don't know. I guess it's just kind of funny how things change sometimes.
