[The video feed comes up on a gentleman sitting in what must be Central Park, against a verdant background of green leaves. Where he is, though, is difficult to say - you can't see any pedestrians around. Hm ( Read more... )

[After examining the other responses:]

What a reception.

Indeed. I'd say I'm surprised, but very little surprises me. Indeed, I rather dislike the sensation and take care to avoid it.

I'm a mind to agree with your sentiment.

Naturally. I'd go so far as to state - perhaps preemptively - that we're kindred spirits of a sort.

At the very least, I approve of your choice in colors.

Neon green is a bit strong for my tastes, admittedly, but you've got the right idea in color scheme.

And maybe other schemes. Given your consorts.

But goodness, where are my manners? Edward Nygma, it's a pleasure.

I already knew your name; but I appreciate the gesture. Proper manners are an endangered species these days.

As for schemes, I do enjoy them, but in the end I'm merely a tool of my master, who I admit is conspicuously not present and, given the nature of this reality, never will be.

Which leaves me rather a free agent; but that's another conversation.

Convenient then, isn't it? You already know my name, well, I'm glad we have propriety to enjoy.

Though, I find it curious that you don't lie. You don't even want to mislead.

That's a dangerous thing.

Infinitely more dangerous than most people believe. So many seem to think that because I play with my cards face up, I'm somehow simple to defeat. It's only rounds later that they realize how little ground they've gained, despite knowing all that's on the table...

But I think you understand that.

Indeed, I do.

You're a very confident man.

Omniscience tends to have that effect on those gifted with it. Even limited omniscience can do wonders for one's confidence in day to day affairs.

Do you have people to focus on? With such a gift, I mean, you must have particular interests.

Well, the children from my own world are of particular interest, yes; especially the girls. You might want to be careful of them, by the way. Far more dangerous than they appear.

But that said, I could potentially follow anyone I was asked to. It's... more difficult as I am now to follow multiple threads simultaneously, I'll admit, but not impossible.

Both of them? I'm aware of Rose and her "fakemagery". Even my sources recognize her power.

Anyone you were asked to. And does one merely have to ask?

Both? You miscount, I think. I include the trolls in that calculation. Vriska and Kanaya as well. And yes, Jade can be dangerous, but as of yet she hasn't realized it, and it's in a rather different way. A more... heroic way.

Oh, no. Certainly not. A weapon I may be, but I'm still a sentient being, and while in my own realm I was a bit bound to follow a certain script, here it is my own discretion as to who I tell what.

That said, my preferences range to the clever and those who would use the information in... interesting ways.

So, Mr. Nygma, how interesting can you be?

Actually, I'm aware of the Alternian girls. They're a class of their own. Though admittedly, heroism is a philosophy more destructive than most wish to believe. I appreciate the illumination on Jade.

And as for me, well. Shouldn't you always know that?

Of course. But I do enjoy asking the questions regardless. Sometimes the purpose is not for my own information, but to give an insight to the other party. And other times, it is simply because I enjoy asking questions to which I already know the answer.

Consider my services at your disposal.
