I do hate when people go inexplicably quiet for long periods of time. It's so suspicious, isn't it? And naturally everyone simply has to make the same observation simultaneously about said suspicion, as if their remarks are particularly insightful or something equally absurd.

Really.

Awfully passive aggressive of you.

Some people just don't see the humor.

Depends on the subject.

I do hope that you weren't talking about me.

No, but I was talking about a fellow well under you.

I can't decide whether to respond to that as if it were a sexual innuendo or not, to be frank with you.

In this case, I rather hope it isn't -- the image might be scarring.

Not on your half, naturally, my dear, but rather the presumed partner.

He's very attractive, I'll have you know. My taste in men is impeccable.

And also not the fellow I had in mind, thankfully, though I'm sure his response will be similar to my bit of fun here.

But I'm sure domestic delights aren't really what you want to discuss?

--who did you have in mind?

Not in particular. What do you think that I really want to discuss? You make it seem as if I want something from you.

Whomever answers in the more predictable manner.

Do you? I wouldn't be so demanding, dear Zatanna, to invoke such a want. But I would gladly give you control of this conversation. For the sake of small talk, perhaps, call me curious.

So difficult.

Fine. How are you doing, then? Other than the passive aggressiveness, of course.

Only for the darling ones.

I'm merely displaying my fondness of red herrings. Usually they clash but, I hear coordination isn't in fashion this season. Just as the people porting in.

I've been recovering, thank you.

You'll make me blush.

Does it count if you make a point of saying that's what it is? As for fashion, I'm not exactly known for having much of a sense for it.

You have a knack for getting yourself in trouble. One might rethink their belief in your reformation, considering how often you seem to be knee-deep in BS.

I hope to.

I'm honestly curious to see if people will pick up, even after I've blatantly discussed it. And I doubt anyone would criticism your wardrobe, Zatanna, it's rather professional.

I assume this is your substitute for a "get well" card?

You're terrible.

I meant off the job.

Great and terrible. Has a nice ring to it.

You'll have to entertain me that one.

I do enjoy ginger snaps.
