I have noticed a common factor in a lot of human media. There is almost what seems to be an insistent need to be in a relationship.
So. What is the purpose of a relationship? I have to say I am quite interested in the reasoning behind it.

They depend on how you look at the situation.

...I...
[SILENCE. HE DOESN'T FREAKING KNOW HOW TO SAY IT WHY ARE YOU ASKING HIM argh]
...I feel... safe. Not alone.
No betrayal. Backup when I need it.
Someone who understands. Can teach me to be--better. Than myself.
I enjoy their presence. I'd like--I want to keep them around.
And protect them.
While I still can.
[ANOTHER PAUSE.]
...It's not the same. For everyone, I mean.

Understanding has come up more than once however. It sounds... nice.

And uh I guess also the constant having-someone-around-who-cares-and-understands thing.
But also sex.

But without a doubt, the best part of being in a relationship is having somebody in your life that you care about so much that you'd be willing to go to the Pit and back for her, and knowing that she feels the same way about you. Do you have any idea how good that feels? When your spark feels like it's about to just burst out of its containment field and all you want is to spend every last cycle of your life with her until you both offline?
Yeah.
I miss that.
