38th Scream (breaking hiatus because this is totally important) [also, audio]

Jan 06, 2010 18:48

... I almost missed it.

As of yesterday, I've been here a whole stellar cycle. A year, rather.

...

Huh. That's...

I mean, not exactly a long time by my people's standards, but...

Hm.

Better than floating aimlessly in space I take it.

So you are talking to Soundwave again.

... sort of. I need... I need time.

...

Shockwave, I was wondering something.

You are being illogical.

Yes?

Yes, yes, I am. I'm aware. And that's what I wanted to talk to you about, and please refrain from being as condescending as you usually are.

[deeeep breath]

I have made significant errors in handling this situation and I... don't know what to do. Or how to correct what I've done.

In short, I'm asking for your advice.

[Annnnd this is the sound of someone coughing from chocking on their tea.]

What?

[Give him a minute, he's a bit shocked from hearing Starscream admit he's made a mess and is now asking for his advice.]

[Clears throat.]

Right.

Would you mind giving me more details on everything that has happened? I would be able to give you a better solution that way.

Fine.

[and because the mun is tired and lazy, we will say that he TL;DRs about the Nanashi situation, explaining what "Arsenal" has found out about Botcast that he's aware of, Arsenal's involvement in capturing Thundercracker, and so on]

[and also actually gives details about his fight at the dinner. All the details. Including how he was actually trying to avoid a fight, and was instead attempting to investigate Nanashi's vehicle, but that he was caught, and that believe it or not, the human struck first.]

I'm also unaware of what he knows thanks to you, Soundwave, and... oh, Primus even knows who else has been talking to him and feeding him information. Also, I seem to have lost Soundwave's trust completely, and I know of no way to regain it.

Nanashi, which you no doubt have noticed, wants you dead - despite the fact that he knows you are immortal. You are, as far as I am aware, the only Decepticon he wants to be rid of ( ... )

Yes, I was quite aware of that. Which is unfortunate, because I believe Waspinator knows how, and Waspinator has every reason to want me dead. Granted, he's thick as lead, but given enough honey by Nanashi and the boy may get something out of him.

And I can't stop being myself.

[goes silent for a bit and ponders] True, but could he perhaps be persuaded that the drawbacks of killing me far outweigh the benefits..?

... and I... I honestly don't know.

If I know how, then it is likely that Waspinator does as well. Nanashi is not aware that Waspinator could possibly know that, so for now you have little to worry about there. Unless someone mentions it to him.

...There are drawbacks?

[He's still working on that list. Loooots of stuff to go through.]

... Have you considered asking Soundwave, or would you rather I go ask him?

I wouldn't rule that out, however.

[you can't see it, but he's glaring]

I...

I'll go ask him. And... hrm.

And I never said to. I simply stated you do not need to worry about that as much as everything else.

... Are you going to inform me of these supposed "drawbacks"?

Good... And?

Most of them are drawbacks to our own people. For instance, if I lost enough memories from dying over and over again, my usefulness as a scientist would be severely compromised... which is something that I believe you do value about me. [And he figures one of the reasons you haven't killed him.]

There's also, I suppose, the unpredictability of memory loss. You can ask almost anyone from my universe - I've become significantly less unpredictable and violent since I came here. Kill me and all that might be reset to something much more undesirable.

... nothing.
