"The ultimate meaning of structuralism is binary alteration. The ultimate meaning of machinic filiation is a sort of surrealism, residues, detritus, witness to the impossibility of 'reducing' desiring machines coded flows (singular infinitives)" Anti-Oedipus Papers, an essay by Guattari called Militant Incidences
What is a Singular Infinitive? Singular, a word often used by recent philosophers including Baudrillard among others, a unique quality, unusual, perhaps troubling event that cannot be subjected to repetition.
It happens once and then its gone forever, a fleeting moment.
Infinitive - since Guattari is French he is obviously using it in that sense, meaning "venir", "to come", a noun than a names an action or state without specifying a subject.
A subjectless action! Simply doing without necessarily being conscious of what you are doing. A total immersion into political praxis. this is when the liminal states of consciousness emerge from being stored as a latent cathexis into a manifest expression... cogent agent that risks incoherence because the specific episteme of a given moment is not prepared to understand the untimely meditation. The history of philosophy is definitely defined by a legacy of these sorts of utterances, from Plato's Apology, to Nietzsche, Bataille, and even the current philosophers who are hip and cool today.
