Brunswick, GA - Sun, 7 Jul 2019, 12:30pm
We're about to leave Georgia's Gold Coast. We've spent the better part of the past three days here for a family reunion.
Oddly most of the family left yesterday morning. It seems everybody else decided either to split their travel across two days (some were driving from 500+ miles away) or get home a day early. If we'd known a few weeks ago we may well have planned to go home a day early ourselves. It would've been nice to get home a day early and have that time to rest up before returning ot work!
With almost nobody else here Saturday was a slow day. We had breakfast with Hawk's parents and her aunt and aunt's SO before her parents had to hit the road. Then auntie and SO had plans of their own for the afternoon, so Hawk and I did a bit of sightseeing on our own at a colonial-era fort followed by relaxing at the hotel's pool. Then we had dinner with auntie and SO when they came back to town. Overall it was a pretty much taking-it-easy day.
This morning has been a taking-it-easy day, as well. We slept in 'tll 8 or so, took turns showering and packing, and met auntie and SO for breakfast. After that we went out to a nearby beach together and walked the surf until it was time to clean up and head out for the airport.
georgia on my mind,
taking it easy,
life's a beach,
