(no subject)
i need sand. all different types. i will even take silts. anyone got a crazy old uncle who used to do research and has a bunch of old samples lying around? eh eh?
why do i need sand? because that is my thrilling research job for the semester. finding a new way to analyze the grain size distribution of soils using photo imaging. yeah i know, my heart was pounding the first time i heard about it too.
hmm, other than the job, classes seem to be ok. i was taking five classes originally, but dropped an urban planning class because it was a bit much. so i'm taking two geotechnical grad courses which seem to be pretty interesting so far, a hydrology class with one of my favorite profs, and a structural course which will probably cause my brain to explode from the mix of boring information and confusing homework. with the exception of that last class, it'll be a fabulous semester i think :)
harmonettes auditions are this week... i think we have a rather large amount of girls auditioning which means muy tiredness for this girl. i'm so excited to get our year started, i heart this group.
sidenote: i think we all know that coordination + holly = disaster, but if we add in another variable called beer, it equals pain. yes, this weekend i tried to kick a pinata that was on the ground. and i accidentally kicked a metal pole instead. so my toes are muy bruised. luckily jamie's band was playing really loud so i don't think anyone really caught on... they probably just thought i was screaming out of excitement (p.s. karenin's smile was awesome... best i've heard you guys live, i am very excited that you are starting to sing harmonies). i saw lots of ppl that i haven't seen in two forevers, and while uncomfortable at times, it was so worth it. yeah for old friends :)
hey, i might have an extra ticket or two to the football game this weekend, so if anyone wants to come sit in my fabulous seats, let me know. hopefully it won't be as tragic a game as the one this weekend. sad times.
i really want to see someone attempt a strong bad costume for halloween. i will give you lots of candy.
