Survival of the fittest doesn't work if we keep feeling bad for the stupid people

You live in a city that's below sea level and there's a category 1 storm coming and you think it's a good idea to stay because there won't be any flooding. Let me repeat... you live below sea level and there's a cat 1 storm coming! They found people on roofs, and dead bodies everywhere. Those are the people I don't feel bad for. The people I do feel bad for are those that actually left and now have their houses and everything they own underwater and they can't go back for weeks. They listened and were the smart ones and there's nothing they could do about it.
The other person I feel bad for, Jesse. She told me not to feel bad but I do. It was her birthday on Friday and I totally forgot. I'm such a bad bad friend. She had to remind her when I called yesterday for something completely unrelated. Happy Birthday buddy!! 1/4 century mark.
If I were those rescue workers, I wouldn't bother trying to save the losers that are just swimming around; they deserve what they get, if they thought they could survive the storm then they can survive the after storm. No car? Hitch a ride with a neighbor that does, it can't be that bad considering everyone was EVACUATED.
They say that Pres Bush had to cut his vacation in Texas short to go back to Washington and actually do work. Big deal. Is anyone supposed to care about that either?
