Yuki sat in the corner, book in hand, immersed in her own world while Haruhi busied herself with the computer. Itsuki and Mikuru were noticeably absent, though this didn't seem to phase their fearless leader. She seemed entranced by whatever she had found on the internet judging by the fact that she hadn't spoken in nearly a half hour.
The silence was starting to put Kyon on edge. At one point, the peace and quiet would be welcome. Now, it was a differnt story. Peace and quiet could mean anything. Haruhi could be off plotting something or she could be bored. She could merely be content for the moment, but with Haruhi, Kyon had long ago given up on that possibility.
A fist slammed against the table and Kyon merely looked up, unphased. He had had a feeling that the peace wouldn't last.
