Day 90 - Mommy on the Go

Apr 01, 2010 01:04

Wow, what a mommy filled day. Today I finished (well, almost finished) organizing the kids' toys. I split the toys between the "play area" downstairs and a few in each of their rooms.

So, I did that. Then I did meals, then I played and fed more, helped with this, turned on that, ect, ect. I didn't get a chance to sit down until after noon. I couldn't wait until quiet time.

I wasn't upset or anything though. I mean, this is part of being a mom. Some days everything else comes second. It's just how it happens.

Phoenix has become obsessed with the old My Little Pony TV show. He loves it. When something bad happens I can hear him go "Oh no" - it's so cute. They watched a bunch of those today and then crawled around on the floor playing My Little Ponies for a while. Scarlett was Pinkie Pie and Phoenix was Cupcake. Too cute.

Scarlett turned into a big girl today (and cried) because I turned around her cage (is a toddler bed facing the wall so it actually preforms like a crib) so that she's in a normal toddler bed now. She's been in it before but it's very common that she just pops out of her room about five minutes after being put to sleep.

But, for nap, she had her bed turned. She cried and cried. I asked, "Don't you want to be a big girl?" "No," she said, "I'm just a little girl." She's so sweet.

She did just fine with her nap though and also with bed time.

After nap, Phoenix and I made brownies (seriously, I have an addiction) and it was fun. Today's brownies have walnuts in them. Phoenix said, "What are these crunchy things?" When I told him they were nuts he said, "There is a place next to my work called "Nut World" and my name is on the sign." Hahaha. He's so funny.

We had a good dinner with Ethan tonight and then it was bedtime. We did our awesome twice a day dental process today also. The kids will learn the new routine eventually. Right now they get sort of annoyed.

Scarlett and I have our own new routine for night time too. We go in her room, brush her My Little Pony's hair and put them in their box. Then we put the pajamas on her baby doll and put her in Scarlett's bed. Then we read a story from a big bedtime book, sing a song in the rocking chair, then another one in her bed - and then it's bedtime. She really is such a good sleeper and so easy to put to bed.

I couldn't wait to be done tonight though because I have so much homework. Today wasn't a day conducive to homework. I did get all my normal weekly stuff done so that I can focus all my attention on my essay exam which is due ON FRIDAY and I am only about one-sixth of the way finished - eek. So, I was totally going to bust out an essay when I remembered there was an assignment from last week that I only half finished.
So I had to complete that. Once I was finished, my eyes started to blur, my back and knees started to hurt and I move to the bedroom. And got no more homework done. Ugh.

Ethan said he'll support me by helping more with the kids so that I can get these essays finished. He's just been working so, so much that it's very hard to get anything else finished.

On a little off topic note, the other day I asked Scarlett what her favorite animal was and she said it was a sheep. :) Super cute and unusual. Also, her favorite color right now is definitely purple, though she insists it's pink! LOL.
