Got my new laptop and now I'm sitting in bed writing this! I got to 5,300 words on my book yesterday, though I'm only ⅙th the way through my outline. It's coming along though. It's amazing how my story ideas can play out like a movie in my head but, when it comes to writing it all out, it becomes much more tedious. My laptop has inspired me to write much more. Last night, I sat on the couch with Phoenix while he watched Star Wars for the first time - which he loved - and wrote. Having the laptop gives me much more freedom.
We went on our playdate yesterday. Phoenix and Jack don't really play together. In fact, he really only plays with Taya - my good friend's daughter - and Scarlett, of course. All other kids he plays next to, although I do hear he plays with kids at school. Jack seemed pretty tired but overall the kids did great. And, I really like Michelle so it was nice to not have to struggle for talking points.
As far as health goes, yesterday was almost entirely pain-free, always a nice treat. I just had a few minor aches: my running shoes hurt the top of my feet (they feel like they are bruised) and I wore them on the playdate so that was a little sore, and my skin on my legs still was sensitive enough that I would cringe when I had to pull my pants up after going to the bathroom. But both super minor things, so I decided I would go on a treadmill two miler. Immediately, the skin on my legs (from the jiggling that happens when running) started hurting, but that's not unusual so I kept moving. At about ⅓rd of the way through the first mile, I could feel my hip start to ache. When I hit around 7ish mins, I hit a down spot and struggled to keep moving. Instead of stopping, I picked up my pace and got into the music, my first mile was run in about 10 mins. At about 1½ miles, my hip was hurting bad enough that I probably should have stopped, but I figured I only had ½ a mile to go so I pushed through. My two miles took 21 mins and 37 seconds. I was sort of limping last night but not too bad, in fact, not noticeable. This morning though, it's been pretty sore. Though I'm hoping I can "walk it off" and it's just stiff from sleeping. I'd still love to run once or twice before my doctor's appointment on Wednesday.
Today we are doing kids pictures. I have to go pick out their outfits and do their hair now. That's pretty much all we have for today. Ethan's been doing a lot of busy work this weekend because he's getting the keys to his new office tomorrow! I'm so proud of him.
