I spoke with the HR guy at the Red Cross yesterday and as it turns out, I might end up spending 3 weeks in Louisville. AAAAAAAAgh. Being in Kentucky is cool, but I will miss Abdel while I'm gone. HR man said I'll probably spend the first 2 weeks shadowing people in the Louisville office and then the 3rd week learning all about the Red Cross. I'll come home to Indiana on the weekends, but it's still a big deal to be away from home for so long. My supervisor's office is in Lville also, and while she's in Bloomington sometimes, all of the department meetings are in Kentucky so I guess I just need to get used to driving more.
I'm nervous to start, but excited too. I am getting used to watching Dr. Phil and Oprah everyday. Dr. Phil's house, as ridiculous as it is, is captivating! Sadly, I'll never know what happens to that family. And cleaning the house, making dinner when Abdel gets home, staying up late - well, it'll still happen but not as frequently.
I feel like I'm about to go off to college for the first time - I'm excited to meet everyone and get into the groove, but nervous for all the work. AAAAAAAAGH.
Anyway, I made some cheddar biscuits tonight and they're making me sick. Blegh - I feel like soda would calm down my stomach, but we don't have any! We hardlly ever have soda here, which is good cuz it makes me drink more water. But sometimes, LIKE NOW, I have such a craving for it.
