Juvenile Fiction Review #1

Hi guys!
I read Junie B. Jones and the Stupid Smelly Bus, by Barbara Park. This book is 80 pages long and intended for children 4 to 8, published in 1992.
The story is written from the perspective of a five-year-old girl starting her first day of kindergarten. Her character is very witty and relatable, as is her situation. Her story is humorous in the best, silliest way, and it's easy to sympathize with her feelings.
I wouldn't suggest this book for children who haven't yet experienced Kindergarten yet, as it might be a little scary for them. Junie B. Jones' first day of Kindergarten is scary for her because she has some bad experiences on the bus and she gets into a lot of trouble with the adults around her, since she doesn't know all the rules yet. Children often fear starting school because they have no idea what to expect, as I sure some of you remember.
On the other hand, this book is great for children who have experienced Kindergarten and the first day of school. They would find it funny be able to reminisce on their first days and all the big feelings they felt then.
I would say that the story and language are most appropriate for ages 5-8, and that reading this with a child could be a great way to get them to talk about their feelings of school.

I'm going to read as many books in this series as I can find and review them in clusters. Let me know about any books you think are great or terrible.
