[ Recording on; and Itachi is dictating this to no one in perticular, just simply and idly wasting breath. ]

Which one is more worrisome, I wonder: the personal drama between certain parties or the supposed foretold predicament.

[ Just as the many times he'd met with Itachi before, it didn't take too considerably long for Kakashi to arrive. In reality, it should have only taken him a few seconds, but he got there in around five minutes, walking with both hands in his pockets and with one eye focused up on the clouds above his head.

Kakashi couldn't really say that he was all too worried about the oncoming storm. That was nothing, really, compared to everything else, and he couldn't quite bring himself to care enough to really stay out of said storm's way. Let come what may, there was no stopping the inevitable, and all that; in the span of things, a storm was the least of everyone's problems.

He stopped not far from where Itachi stood, scuffling his feet across the concrete as he glanced back down. There was a moment where he didn't say anything at all, carefully glancing over the other's frame with an unreadable expression. He smiled predictably not soon after, though, and gestured up toward the skies with his chin. ]

Nice day.

[ It really wasn't. ]So. ( ... )

[ It was expected that Kakashi would come late -- though, Itachi was faining to be rather patient, not to mention he was not occupied. It seemed as though time was simply dismissed in this environment, and the Uchiha indulged in such a non-existent aspect that would have been none less than vital in his real reality.

Dulled red hues looked up at the sky itself, seemingly in a mild trance at the blurring of clouds and what not. The Akatsuki robe was lazily draped over his shoulders and once he had heard the faint footsteps of Kakashi’s arrival, Itachi tilted his head slowly in the other’s general direction. Even if Kakashi was a blurred mess, Itachi could not mistake him.

Lowly, Itachi let out a huff of breath, one that could be akin to that of a dry laugh if one was to look all-too-closely into such a gesture. The irony in the question was enough for him to lower his head in deep thought before his figure turned itself fully to Kakashi. The fold of material rested his arm, and his words were those of typical apathy. ]If you insist ( ... )

[ Kakashi's smile twitched just lightly, shifting from its typical calm neutrality into something slightly more amused. He was still watching him, but it was distanced now, a bit more reserved, except underneath the seemingly indifferent mask he was still paying sharp attention to every word out of Itachi's mouth and every move he made.

Analyzing, maybe, because that was what he did best. It was a bit more difficult to analyze someone who clearly didn't want to be analyzed, however, but Kakashi was rather used to that, after all this time. It came with the territory, he figured.

He didn't say anything for a second or two. Instead, he stepped aside and gestured in front of him with his hand, palm up and fingers relaxed. ]

After you.

[ The constant gaze was not something that Itachi was unaware of. He knew of Kakashi’s nature of reading into things, perhaps a bit too deeply but that in itself was much more favourable than too little -- or to act completely oblivious and ignorant. Still, Itachi simply was not one to be portrayed as a subject to be observed, but he did not point it out. ]

Taking your place so suddenly?

[ Words dipped in the thinnest of sardonic paint, and Itachi turned his back to Kakashi. It was not trust as one may expect, but there was a mutual truce between them that went unspoken.

His own movements were not quick, long languid steps in one direction, a few flickers of his frame that showed vulnerability, but he did not bother to hide it as Kakashi already knew. And it would have been too much effort to hide his condition of decaying health. ]

[ Kakashi didn't move to follow him right away. There was maybe a second's pause as he regarded the other's movements as he brushed passed him, before he was falling into step alongside him. They weren't far apart, now, with less than a foot between them as they walked, and Kakashi was still watching, still not saying anything, still thinking because he didn't have much else to do.

He allowed the silence to linger for a good while. It wasn't that he didn't have anything to say, because he did. Kakashi typically always had something or other to say, and this time wasn't any different. He was just waiting, quietly, patiently, as relaxed as always.

When he finally spoke, he wasn't looking at him anymore. ]

You're dying.

[ There was no emotion behind his words, no underlining meaning. It was a fact, simply stated, and it rang out surprisingly loud into the atmosphere around them. Kakashi hadn't been sure, the first few times they met, but it was obvious now; every time he saw Itachi, the other seemed to be in worse and worse ( ... )

[ Despite the somewhat close proximity -- Itachi made no effort to move. His swaying figure was weak, losing it’s firmness that using donned itself over the Uchiha, and now his steps seemed somewhat sluggish, lazy. His breathing was slightly disjointed, red hues dulled to a certain gray-red, and his skin seemed much paler than it was meant to be.

It seemed as though the poison was certain taking it’s toll, and doing a perfect number on Itachi.

When Kakashi had stated the current condition that Itachi was in, he slowed down before halting his steps -- then without a second being wasted, he continued to walk. His eyes were focused on the ground, as that which was before him made Itachi prone to slight headaches from the blurred vision that made his eyesight succumb to almost non-existent.

Nonetheless, he was silent when they continued to walk, side by side. But after that long stretch of muteness, Itachi spoke.]

My eyesight will cease within two weeks at most.

[ However, Itachi did not speak of his overall health. ]

[ Kakashi noted the minor halt, and he followed closely next to Itachi, stopping at the exact moment he did and picking up his pace once more when the other began back on his current trek through the city. Itachi had given no real recognition to his own statement, but the other hadn't really expected him to. He was as stubborn as ever, of course, even in the face of death, and though Kakashi was well aware of his oncoming blindness, it didn't exactly concern him as much as the other looming threat that hung directly overhead.

Death may have been impermanent in Nuadoria, but that hardly meant anything to Kakashi. It was still an unpleasant experience, and it was still one that Kakashi wasn't keen on having happen to a potential ally. Aside from that, he wasn't sure the sort of impact it would have on Sasuke, and if it would only continue to happen repeatedly after that --

They turned a corner, and Kakashi let out a soft, thoughtful, inaudible breath of air. ]

I can't help you if you won't let me.

[ Itachi knew of death not being existent in this environment -- perhaps that is why he was fully accepting of his long-drawn out, and slightly painful, death. He could have avoided Sasuke for so and so months when the red hues turned to a clear white, and it would only be several months until Itachi was to die. The after-effects of the death however were not know. And neither was it known if death would have been the perfect cure for the poison he had taken over a long time, or if the cycle would simply repeat once he was brought back -- and once again he would die of the same self-inflicted disease.

His eyes were still glancing at the ground, following the other’s footsteps as he turned the corner, albeit slowly, and continued to walk. He had no reason to take in the environment, or what was around them. instead he passed a glance to Kakashi, his eyelids narrowed as though he was trying to focus on the other’s appearance. ]

I’m flattered you’re so concerned.

[ It was low and slow mockery that left his mouth. ]However, there is ( ... )
