I'm awake. It's not even 8am. There's no food for breakfast. I think I'll take a shower and walk over to Ramona's on Lark Street. Nothing like a good walk and a nice meal to chase away a dark mood.

Bean and rice salad plus lettuce plus yogurt equals food I don't have to cook. I win.

I just got back from Sherry Lynn's Bakery out on RT-7 east of Troy. They had philly cheese steak. Because I have celiac, I haven't had philly cheese steak in years. It tasted so good.

Last night reminded me that I love playing the host. I had my good friend Colleen over last night. It was a scramble getting everything together. Beets and feta and sunflower seeds on a bed of lettuce. It makes me happy.

A few weeks ago, I bought a mortar and pestle. This isn't one of those tiny grinding tools you use for grinding spices. This is a ten pound beauty made for heavy duty work. Just got back from My Lihn. I love pho. If I hadn't spent $8 on a drink, it would have been a very affordable dinner. Cheap or no, it was worth it.

My friend Barb just sent me a link to her new catering site. In addition to a host of other things (murder mystery dinners, teaching gig's, etc.) she's been catering ever since I've known her.
