Happy new year, or: the failings will continue until morale improves
For Yuletide I wrote:

"That Dare Not Speak" (Gyousou/Taiki, 12K)

arboretum, you do indeed win a prize! Feel free to give further direction, otherwise I'll take you at your word and write whatever. And
troisroyaumes wins half a prize! j/k I'd be glad to write something; throw me a prompt if you want?
Truth is I felt pretty demoralized by Yuletide--the writing experience, I mean, not the reading or reception. I wanted to do a bunch of short Treats--in the absence of family obligations I even had time to do them--and then the ideas just wouldn't come, which was so disheartening I can't even asfljdflakdfjk. Like, what the everloving heck is wrong with me when I can't ralph up a couple hundred words of Haku/Chihiro on the theme of "happily ever after"? If I can't write flurfy bits of waff for my OTPs what use am I (to humanity)?! lol am also dissatisfied with the things I did manage to produce--for the Ayu/Nomiya in particular I wanted to do something more substantial--but at least they exist (and readers have been kind enough to express enjoyment), as opposed to all the Treats that didn't happen.
As for the Treat that did happen: it's the one where Taiki is demisexual and all the other kirin are ace. Which is a scenario one can make a case for even if it's not my, how you say, canon of the head. Am willing to entertain it mainly because I can live without the other ruler/kirin pairings having sex, whereas if Gyousou and Taiki don't have sex my entire world crumbles and falls apart. XD;; Apologies to any En fans who were put out--though who knows, Enki could've been lying. XD; In any case Pengie appears to have read the thing in a way I didn't intend--it wasn't meant to be about pining at all!--ahaha authorial fail, I mean I knew it was a mess but I figgered some GyouTai was better than none.
On top of all that it's time for the annual bout of self-flagellation re: how much did I (fail to) write in the past year. Might as well get started! Demoralization all around.
