I feel I haven't written in a while so here goes a small update. We've been busy with family gatherings and birthdays. A couple of weeks ago we went to the Efteling with my inlaws, then we had a birthday/housewarming party, then another birthday party, so yup, we've been busy. This weekend seems to be quiet though so we are hoping to catch up on some Guitar Hero, we haven't played in forever!
Things at the animal shelter are going fine, it's not as busy as a few months ago, but still there are about 90 cats, so start adopting, people!! :P We also had a bit of a kitty-flu outbreak, almost every cat was sneezing at some point, but I think only two kitties couldn't make it, the rest recovered fine.
My hopes to work there have been crushed for the time being though, they say they want people with some study related to animals. My languages background seems pretty useless in this country except for call centers, so it seems... so I am pondering on following an LOI course, for "Dierverzorging" (Heh how do you translate that, "animal care-taker"?)
The shelter manager said that LOI was acceptable so I could eventually study at home, I would just need to sort time for the practical lessons-day and for the exams. Tough decisionsssss...
So that's basically it. I am looking forward to go to Mexico next month, my parents are super excited too, so we are counting the days.
