More roommate obliviousness
Who the FUCK gets a phone call at 7:45 in the morning? Ok let me revise that, what college student gets a phone call at 7:45 in the morning? Who the hell thinks it is ok to call a college student who has a ROOMMATE at 7:45 in the morning?
Ok, had the phone call been an emergency, then sure, I would understand, but when the first thing that my roomie says is "yeah, well, its going to be a hard week, I have two exams on wednesday" then you know it ISN'T a critical phone call.
I was in shock. Who does that? So I told my roommate that it was too early to have a phone conversation, and that she needs to call the person back later, or leave the room. I didn't tell her that she had to hang up, only that if it wasn't an emergency, that she should not be talking on the phone in our room at 7:45 in the morning, not when I was trying to get that last valuable half hour to hour of sleep.
Her response? "The phone rang" I KNOW THE FUCKING PHONE RANG! That is how i WOKE up! She acted like she couldn't help being on the phone. It rang, so clearly she HAD to answer it. Ok, so answer it to make sure it isn't an emergency, but then be like, I can't talk. HELLO!!!!!! It is just common courtesy.
She COULD have left the room, but she is NOT going to make me lay in bed, unable to sleep, and listen to her talk to her bf/aunt/mom/dad/sister/whoever about her week. Not when I have a week with lots of exams/papers. Not ever.
It's not like the person calling her doesn't know she has a roommate. Very few college sophomores are in singles (yes, I know there are some of you who are in singles, I don't want to hear it) and WHO CALLS A COLLEGE STUDENT THAT EARLY?????????????????? I mean, she was asleep too. It wasn't like she was up and functioning. She is NEVER up and functioning that early. hell, I don't know if she ever has been up and functioning that early.
NOT COOL. ESPECIALLY because she didn't see what the problem was. She should have left the fucking room or tell whoever it was that she would call them back. ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
