Weiss sucked last night. They were hosting the first party of the year, but due to a lack of good music and a crackdown on the alcohol policy (boo!) there was no dancing and people were just standing around. We all hope this isn't a sign of the year's parties to come. They decided that a lot of traffic going in and out of a room now counts as a valid reason for officers to enter the room due to suspicious activities, whereas before as long as the alcohol remained in the room with the door shut they weren't going to come in. Now no one knows how harsh they will be about enforcing this, but right now no one is willing to risk it. Especially because they are now going to punish private party hosts. We can't call them private parties anymore either. They are now private gatherings. All becuase that stupid senior sued rice for her hazing suspension as sexual discrimination (which it wasn't) and because Leebron (our president) has been waiting for any excuse to cut down on the drinking on campus. But what the new policies are really going to do is create a more calpoly-esque atmosphere of hiding alcohol, and drinking a lot of it in a short period of time, which as we all know is not safe. Campus is wet, if they don't want drinking on campus, they should make it dry. But they can't make it dry because then the drinking would become even more unsafe. The openness of the alcohol policy is what helped protect us students from our own stupidity.
