"Book from Every Country" Challenge

Sep 23, 2007 11:35

I'm a little late, as my friends have already been doing this for two years, but better late than never. ;)"Book from Every Country" Challenge
Old rules:
I'm going to read a book from or about every United Nations member state. Books I have read since the 1st of January 2007 are counted. Wikipedia has a list of UN member states. In principle, only sovereign states can become UN members, and today all UN members are fully sovereign states. This is why I have added a few non-sovereign countries/areas to my list, for example Tibet (belongs to China), Greenland and Faroe Islands (both belong to Denmark).

New rules 2009: I'm going to read a book from every sovereign state.

As Finland is my country, I will add an additional rule concerning Finland: The book must be recognised as a classic in Finnish literature.

Below is a visual map, which shows the countries I have read books from: (2007 ->)
