Writing and Glenn Hughes
Today's been a good day. We found a new pizza place which serves the best pizzas in Kallio. It's called Välimeri, in case you want to take a culinary trip to Kallio.
Inspired by all the people participating in NaNoWriMo, I started writing too. Although I'm not trying to be finished in one month. :) I've been thinking about writing for a long time, and I've had some ideas what I would like to write about, but I haven't had the foggiest clue of a plot. Then yesterday, as I was at Glenn Hughes' gig, during the song, Mistreated, I had this idea. First, I got a vague plot idea, then the main character materialized in my brain, and then she took on a life of her own. I had no trouble thinking about how to advance the plot, because ideas were just popping in my head. And today, when I started writing, the text just flowed out of me. I don't know if my writing is any good, but at least it was fun. I'll have to try to write more later.
Glenn Hughes (of Deep Purple fame) showed that he's still an amazing singer and bass player. The rest of the band were really good too. What made the gig not so good was that he played so much of his solo stuff, which I'm not familiar with. But at least I got to hear an amazing version of Procol Harum's A Whiter Shade Of Pale, and and one of my favorite Deep Purple songs, Burn.
I finished today the fourth Anita Blake, vampire hunter book. I really love that series!
