Photoshoot 6

Mar 23, 2008 06:04

It's Final Six, and you guys know what that means..! We're getting closer and closer to deciding who will become Candybar's Next Top Model! Your next photoshoot is inside, and I bet you're dying to see what it is..!

The girls all walked into a dimly-lit warehouse. Lining one wall was a bunch of makeup tables, like the ones they usually used to get their hair and makeup done, as well as a set surrounded by the brightest lights in the room, and people crowded around in one area. One of them could be identified as a photographer by the camera around his neck, the others as makeup artists, hair stylists, and other helping-hands. But one person with their back turned was.. Unfamiliar, at best.

"I recognize everyone else but.. Who is that?" Holly asked, extending a pointed finger towards the stranger. "I don't think I've ever seen her in my life!" The confused girl glanced around to some of the other models beside her.

A couple of them shrugged, and Max-B piped in: "I like her shoes though. They're fab!" Holly giggled alongside her, and Zephyr, for the first time, took notice of the woman's fashionable footwear. While all of the other girls were observing the mysterious guest, CJ began rummaging through her purse, trying to find her lip balm.

Leona, growing tired of the fact that the group had entered and that no one had even turned to acknowledge them, stepped forward from the pack and called out to the group of people across the room. "Uh, hello? We're here!" Her voice was loud, and cut across the chatter of the girls beside her and the huddle across the warehouse. Everyone, photographer, makeup artist, hairstylist and everyone, looked up to the group.

Slowly, the stranger turned to reveal her identity...

And the girls began to scream! It was:

Bethany Turtle! Winner of Candybar's Next Top Model, Cycle 1!

"Hey ladies!" Bethany bopped excitedly over to the group of absolutely stunned girls, smiling and jumping up and down alongside them. Once the commotion had calmed down, she took a few steps back, placed a hand on her hip, and began to explain what was going on. "As you may know, I'm Bethany Turtle, winner of Candybar's Next Top Model Cycle 1 and a current Carmendy fashion model. I've been from one place to the other--New York, LA, Bangalore, where I started out on CBNTM, London, Paris--you name it, I've at least flown over it!"

The models all nodded in excitement, still stunned that they were actually meeting someone as big as Bethany. Even CJ had forgotten all about her lip balm and was now completely focused on the model in front of them. "So, since I'm so experienced, today I'm supposed to be helping you girls with this photoshoot. There's only one problem... I'm not really.. Feeling this set."

The girls all glanced over to the set. It was fairly plain, and no particularly dynamic like most of their sets were. They all looked back to Bethany, wondering what she was going to do about the disappointing scenery.

"Hm. I don't really know what we can do to spice things up.. We've tried lighting, props... I guess we could bring in more models for each shot, but.. I don't think that would spice it up enough." She placed a finger to her cheek, glancing up to the ceiling thoughtfully. She sighed. "I guess there's no way around it. We're just going to have to move to a new set.."

"And the only set I can think of that would be brilliant enough for this photoshoot..."

"IS IN BRAZIL!!"

All of the girls' eyes went wide. It took them a moment to register what Bethany meant by that, but as soon as she figured out what it was, Leona started to scream and jump out and down wildly.

THEY WERE GOING TO BRAZIL!

Soon, the momentum had caught and all of them were celebrating. Holly got so excited she even dropped her expensive purse, and Max-B accidentally stomped on Zephyr's designer shoes. CJ, who had found her lip balm just before Bethany's announcement, dropped the chapstick in delight as she started dancing with Ava, whose hat--to hide a less-than-lfattering hair day--had flown off. Bethany joined in with the lot of them.

"Okay!" She cried out, once they were done celebrating for a few moments. "You guys had better hurry up, get back to the house, and pack--you're due at the airport in less than an hour!"

The flight was kind of long, and the girls were tired. Most of them slept on the plane, while a few of them stayed wired, bouncing up and down in their seats chanting "Brazil! Brazil!" It no doubt annoyed the passengers. When the plane landed, the girls stepped off, looking around wildly for their guidance to their next destination. What they saw was a now familiar face--Bethany.

"Welcome to Brazil, ladies!" Bethany cheered, and music began to play. Dancers flooded in from several different directions, all moving about in celebration.

As the dancers moved away and the girls stopped their celebrating to catch their breath, Bethany stepped over to them. "I'm glad you enjoyed that! Again, welcome to Brazil. Unfortunately for you guys, you have a photoshoot to get to, and pronto! We have a car waiting for you out front, so let's all get going!" The redhead grabbed one of the girls' hands and led the way to the front of the airport, where the car whisked them away to their photoshoot.

The car pulled up, and the girls all exited, crowding around in a warehouse similar to the one they had left behind--except this time, no set was in view. Instead, it was simply makeup tables and racks of what were obviously clothes, covered by large sheets. They all looked around as Bethany entered.

"I'm going to go ahead and explain this shoot to you guys so you can get started on the hair and makeup. Do you remember the dancers we were greeted by at the airport?" Everyone nodded. "Well! The dance those dancers were doing is called the Samba, and it is a dance that is based on what is widely viewed as Brazil's national musical style of the same name. For this photoshoot, you will be continuing part of what you learned earlier this week--working together with someone--in your photograph. Of course, we couldn't have you guys pose together again, because that would be boring! So, we decided to bring someone in.."

The girls all glanced around. Who in the world could they bring in now?! "Why don't you come out, hon?" Bethany held her hand out to motion behind the girls, who suddenly noticed a rack of clothing had slowly been sneaking up behind them. They were all trying to get a peek at who was behind it when..

"HAH!" Out popped..

"Everyone! I'd like to introduce you to someone I've actually worked with once or twice, and someone you may--or may not--be familiar with. Everyone, this is Mark Ryan! Mark, why don't you fill the girls in on who you are in case they don't know?"

Mark had joined Bethany, placing an arm around her shoulders and giving a boyish grin. "Hey girls. I'm Mark Ryan, I'm 17, and I'm the little brother of Maranda Jones, the winner of Candybar's Next Top Model Cycle 0. If any of you watched that Cycle, I'm sure you wouldn't have forgotten this face." He joked, putting his hand on his chin. "I'm 'The Boy Who Has A Better Model Name Than His Sister.' After the show was over, I decided I wanted to give this whole 'modeling' thing a try, and I got signed to the same agency as Moronda. We've worked together in several cities since then, and I've had the pleasure of working with this lovely woman here," he tapped Bethany's shoulder. "And today, I'm going to get the chance to work with all of you! We're going to be.."

Samba Dancing

Just like with your photoshoot, you ladies will be working with partners--your partner for this particular photoshoot will be Mark. You will have to pose and dress not only yourself, but also Mark. Your pictures should convey the dance as best as possible, including an environment suited to the Carnival feel of Brazil. Your outfits should be couture versions of the samba outfits like the ones you saw in the video. Keep in mind that you can make your outfits a bit less revealing if you are so inclined.

THIS IS IMPORTANT.
There IS one doll in the dollmaker that is in a dancing pose with a male partner.
DO NOT USE IT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
You're the final six, we want to see some real editing action here!

To make it easier on you.. Here's Mark's head!

Feel free to edit his expression and hair in the photograph--but his face must be the same face. Also, try to keep in mind that most male models don't wear wigs.. So even if he is changing his hairstyle, it probably shouldn't be so dramatic that it doesn't look like his hair anymore.

Remember: movement, more couture versions, and please try to involve Mark in the picture doing more than just standing around staring at your sexy booties, even if he does tend to do that sometimes..!

The deadline for this photoshoot is April 4th, 2008, before 12:00 midnight EST.
Extensions will be granted for CJ, Ava, Holly and Leona ONLY.

Oh! And.. Anyone who would like to roleplay with and hang out with Mark can stop by the Casa for an on-set chat with him..! He'd enjoy the company of some lovely ladies like yourselves.
