The world is full of people whose notion of a satisfactory future is, in fact, a return to the ideal

So on a whim a little while ago I was toying with the idea of going back to the OG original LJ spot. That led me over there, reading some journal entries from 2002 and back. Approximately 100 entries in, having deleted some, and privatized others, I must say.. f that. LJ still hasn't done anything to make mass editing of entries convenient and I'm not about to sift through 921 posts one post at a time. No thank you. (The other thought I had about combining all meaningful entries into one journal is dead in the water.)

Fun stats of note while poking around the three LJs I've had over the last 6 and a half years:

candles - (11.13.00 to 08.05.02) - entries: 921 comments: posted: 2,919 received: 1,824
multifoiled - (08.06.02 to 01.02.07) - entries: 1082 comments: posted: 2,369 received: 1,569
bournisien - (01.03.07 to present) - entries: 44 comments: posted: 64 received: 18

Looking at those numbers tells me I went from Extremely Active on LJ at the onset to somewhat active, to my LJ presence of today, which is virtually non-existent. And it's not only me. The vast majority of people I met and interacted with in the early days of LJ or either gone, at one point unfriended, or like me, posting once every fifth moon cycle. Guess we all grew up and got lives, huh? (Or found other, cooler places to hang out online.)

livejournal, nostalgia
