676 negara brunei darussalam

Just wiki-ed and found out that negara brunei darussalam means nation of brunei, the abode of peace. Coolios.

Anyway photos from my sibling trip with shauny to visit my aunt in brunei before she comes back to singapore and heads off to moscow for work for the next 3 years! I guess brunei's not the top of anyone's travel list but since my aunt was staying there, why not? Free accom (hehe) plus she brought us around and it's cool to go to a place that's not such a common holiday destination #hipster.

Aboard our malaysia airlines flight (this was right after the two incidents, but decided to go ahead because sq & royal brunei airlines flights were insanely priced, almost double?? We had to transit in kl but i forced my brother to get the anz card so we can go into the airport lounge. And thanks to codesharing, we got to sit the royal brunei airline from brunei to kl too!)

Pitstop at a prata place after touching down. iphone 4s for prata size reference.

Hi brownie! (Aunt's dog, also known as smelly dragon and naughty fart. She also has higher clearance than us at the singapore embassy...)

Boat ride out in the evening to the mangrove river! It takes you to see proboscis monkeys and the water village. The proboscis monkeys were so cute! Very shy and very chill (just sitting along the tall trees eating). I'm not even sure my camera managed to snap photos of them but maybe my brother did?

Buffet dinner after and the most interesting thing was this dessert dish called ambuyat. It's gross. It's made from tapioca (i think) and you pull a portion with chopsticks and dip in sauces like chinchalok. It's slimy and icky and HELLA GROSS. It's definitely an acquired taste.

Pic on the left is one of the biggest mosques in brunei. Can't remember the name but it's a super long name. I bought a postcard so i could figure out what name it was haha
