Finding ways to cope

I recently watched a really cool series dealing with breast cancer  in a pretty nuanced way.

Terminal City, a 10 episode series, is now available for digital download.  Similar to the quirkiness and even morbid “Six Feet Under,” Terminal City is a high quality production with exceptional writing and acting to support.  Much like “Weeds,” viewers of Terminal City get to witness a dysfunctional family grappling with a sad and uncertain time.

In this award winning Canadian drama, we see 43 year-old wife and mother Katie Sampson (Maria Del Mar), alongside her loving husband (Gil Bellows), her incorrigible father in-law (an Auschwitz survivor), her rebellious daughter, her pot-obsessed teenage son and her God and death obsessed seven-year-old, cope with both the pains of breast cancer, as well as the strangeness of the world of reality TV, when during her treatments Katie is selected to host an ailing reality-driven, hospital-based medical series.

This is truly dark comedy at its finest.  If you are a fan of most HBO and Showtime series (e.g. Six Feet Under, Weeds, Big Love), you’re sure to appreciate Terminal City.  The show has received a number of awards, and great reviews from all of the major entertainment journals.

Visit these sites to download Terminal City:  Zipidee, Pop Matters, Bella Online, Box Office Mojo, Dark Horizons, Movie Web, Aint it Cool News, Roger Ebert, Futon Critic and TV Addict.
