something I just don't get

All right, it's a holiday weekend. Most people didn't work yesterday and they're not doing much more today. It's our right to be relax a little, in other words. Soo.....why then is it so shocking that a restaurant might just want to close 30 minutes early on the holiday? There's hardly anyone coming in. We all want to go home/out to do ( Read more... )

You seriously didn't do anything to the food? Not even over-salt the veggies or leave the steak in a little too long or give him half a shot in his margarita?

Well, I was already done by that point anyway, so I can't tell you for sure. But they sure weren't getting a leisurely dining experience. "Here's your food. Now here's your check. We'll just stand over there and glare at you until you leave. And have a lovely evening!"

You are obviously forgetting that yours is the only restaurant in the entire city of New York. Try not to make that mistake again, okay?

Honestly, couldn't the guy just walk -- what? half a block? -- and find a restaurant that actually was open?

Or is your grilled cheese sammich just so nummy that he simply had to have the experience before going back to Peoria?

Long Island actually, but the 24-hour diner is right down the road. You can't go very far around here without bumping into a diner. So apparently he was just a jerk. Lots of 'em on holidays.
