So the good news is that I am totally able to double in environmental studies/public policy with a minor in creative writing.
The not so good news is pretty much the shit and implications that come with this decision:
1. After this year I'm pretty much going to hole myself into environmental and/or public policy classes every single quarter, meaning intensive study with a few spare classes here and there for the calculus courses (FUCKKKKK) and remaining core that I need oh and English so that means a lot of reading for the rest of my time here and probably more papers than I'd like. By extension I'm going to need to write a BA paper for both/come up with a paper topic that encompasses both areas so pretty much I'm going to have to master this whole "environmental and public policy" writing shindig.
2. A lot of my scheduling depends on when classes are offered and whether or not classes can count toward both fields. I only have one class slot left for the rest of my years here after considering every required class so I am given a very narrow wiggle room in terms of classes. I can already foresee scheduling conflicts and some tears over there.
3. NOT TO MENTION THE POSSIBLE AND POTENTIAL HAVOC IT CAN WRECK ON MY GPA????? AND GRADES?? Which leads to
4. The fact that I will be taking the LSAT and need to be thinking about law school on top of all this?????
My friend currently taking public policy with econ says it isn't too hard, but then again he is also busy a lot and is staying in on the weekends more frequently than last year. I don't anticipate environmental being too difficult, since a lot of the material are things we hear about often and I know a bit about in the first place, but writing-wise could be a little challenging? Also I have never taken any pubpol classes in my life and am terribly shitty at calculus so if there's anything math related I am going to have a hard time...not to mention I still need to compile a portfolio and attend writing/reading intensive English courses for my minor.....the thing is I'm really excited to have this because it should keep me on track and I find the material pretty engaging and wouldn't mind learning more about it....but it looks like after this year there goes all my free time....it's about to get serious....I'm nervous.........
school,
