HOW THIS WORKS: You comment, I give you an age (please tell me how old you currently are) and you fill out the meme questions with what applied to you back then, and now.
anachronism gave me 21:
- I lived in: Williamsburg, Virginia, for almost the entirety of the year I was 21, actually. I turned 21 in the 'burg because that was the summer I stayed on campus working for Conference Services, then had my senior year, including staying and working in Williamsburg over winter break, too. I moved home to Marlton, NJ after I graduated for the last 2 months of being 21.
- I drove: only when other people let me borrow their cars, for the most part. I did get my first car, the dreadful 1987 Jeep Cherokee Chief (of death), shortly before I turned 22, though, so I was driving that for a bit.
- I was in a relationship with: no one, really. 21 was my single year. Matt had broken up with me about a month or two before I turned 21, and so I spent that year mostly single. I made out with a lot of people and went on some dates here and there, then had my few months of sex with the same person who I wasn't really dating because it was only ever about sex, but no actual relationships when I was 21.
- I feared: the future, mostly. It was my senior year of college, so I was terrified of grad school and the world beyond William & Mary. I was afraid of not getting into any grad schools, and then of having to leave Williamsburg for something different, afraid of not making any friends and/or losing all the friends I had, etc. "Can't sleep, future will eat me" was definitely something I thought more than once that year.
- I worked at: Ha, where didn't I work that year? When I turned 21, I was working both at Conference Services and for the Phonathon, which I'd been working at since sophomore year. I continued working at the phonathon until I graduated, and also worked at the William & Mary bookstore for the spring semester (sidenote: how the hell did I have time for two jobs and all my classes and a social life?! Where did I get that kind of energy and how do I get it now?). Plus over winter break, I waitressed at Miyako, so there was a brief period in there where I had 3 jobs. I don't really recommend that. After I graduated, I spent about a month being jobless and bored out of my mind, before I started as a camp counselor at ESF, which I loved more than anything.
- I wanted to be a(n): school psychologist. Though after I started at ESF, I often wished I could turn that into a full-time, year round job.
Now, at age 28:
- I live in: North York, Ontario. Honestly, if you'd told me at 21 that I'd end up moving to Canada, I probably would have thought you were crazy. Lol.
- I drive: my 2011 Nissan Versa, which is my happy little blue car that I absolutely love.
- I am in a relationship with: my husband Brad ♥
- I fear: Never finding financial stability, not being able to have and do the things we want in life because of stupid money.
- I work at: a school board outside of Toronto
- I want to be a(n): mom. Don't get me wrong, I still want to have my job and continue to be a school psychologist. But since that aspiration remains the same, I may as well tell you the other thing I really want to be at this point. :)
Crazy how much life changes, huh? Comment if you want me to give you an age to talk about!
