don't keel over now

Hey friends! How about a less epic entry for you this time? This week was kind of off, not for any major reason or for anything specific that happened, but I just felt out of it and kind of disjointed the whole time. I had a reeaaaallly hard time getting up every morning; when my alarm would go off, I had to force myself out of bed. So I just kind of had this general sense of being slightly tired and not 100% sure of what I should be doing all week, and so I just felt off. Hopefully this week will be better now that I'm presumably more into the swing of things again. I'm chalking last week up to first week back from vacation blahs.

On the plus side, Friday was payday, and it's kind of nice to only work a week and then get a paycheck. On the downside, because the paycheck was only for a week, after paying bills and getting gas and groceries, we've only got like $25 leftover. :-/ Not very helpful, but I am babysitting on Saturday, so hopefully that will cover any little odds and ends between now and next paycheck. Also, work owes me about $200 or so in mileage from November and December, plus I should get reimbursed for the wheeled suitcase I bought, so maybe I'll get lucky and some of that money will show up this week. It would be nice, anyway.

I'm in a meetup group for Americans living in Toronto, and there's a forum where people have been talking about their immigration stories. One woman is having issues with her application, which is being processed in Buffalo, and her comments lately have been all about how the office in Buffalo has lost some of her documents and she's had to go to all this extra trouble to be sure things are processed correctly, etc. Others have chimed in with their own horror stories about the Buffalo visa office, and the latest comment was from the original woman, who said that processing times have now gone from 11 months to 19 months. Augh! The whole conversation just makes me really nervous about my application, because of course mine is being done at the Buffalo office, too, and what if they lose my documents or screw something up with my application? Ugh, and if I now have to wait an additional 8 months on top of the time I already thought I was waiting, then there's no way I'll have my PR status before the summer, which means we'd have to go through all the crap of not having any income for a third summer in a row and adpaow;liawuehfserghle. I really just have to try not to think about this, because there's nothing I can do at this point anyway, and the CIC website is still listing 11 months as the processing times, so who knows. Just, so much anxiety about this. :-/

Anyway, today I'm off to Waterloo to see Becca and baby Tessa, and I can't wait to see them! I haven't seen Becca since her shower in October, and obviously haven't seen the baby yet either. It'll be good to catch up with her. Actually, I need to go jump in the shower so that I can leave on time, so you all have a lovely rest of your weekend!

mood, pr app, money money money, friends
