Hello female lj friends! I address this entry to my female friends because I am offering a bunch of purses that I no longer need/use, and I highly doubt any of my male friends will be all "oooh, I want that purse!" Anyway, I tend to buy myself a new purse about once a year or so, because I get tired of the one I've been using and I want something different/more seasonally appropriate/whatever. I've saved all of my old purses, because I always assume that I'll go back to them at some point, but with the exception of maybe one or two purses, I never do. I realized yesterday, when I bought this year's
new purse and went to put away the old one, that I've still got a purse I used at the end of high school and have never used since. Which means that it's really high time I gave these away to good homes. And that, of course, means that my wonderful LJ friends get first dibs on anything I'm offering.
Three purses in one picture!! The one on the bottom left, I am quite sure I have never actually used. It's just a cute little summery bag, not very big, but would be good if you didn't want to bring your whole purse somewhere. The black one on the bottom right was the one I used for awhile in high school. It's got one of those metal thingies (I have no idea what they're called) so that you can adjust the length of the strap, and has a bunch of pockets in the font. One of the pockets even has slots for cards and whatnot, so it could serve as a wallet substitute, I'd imagine.
This one gets its own close up so you can see the beading detail. Obviously, it's some kind of satin-y material, best suited for something dressy. I originally got this to go with my prom dress, which means I've used it exactly twice. So if you've got evening wear that is this color, it'd be great. The handles are a little dirty (though I'm not sure how as, like I said, I've used it twice), but it's not super obvious.
This one zips on the top and has the flap that hooks closed over the two front pockets. It's also got two small side pockets, plus an inner zip pocket. Pockets everywhere! It's still in very good condition.
This one is well-loved because it was my favorite purse for a long time. It's got a cute flower-print lining and an inside zip pocket, snap closure at the top. It could probably use a run through the wash, but I will be happy to wash it first if anyone wants it.
Okay, so there are my purses. If anyone wants one, just let me know, and I'll be happy to send it or give it to you in person. If no one wants them, I'll probably just donate them to goodwill or purple heart when I send my next batch of clothes in.
In other news, my Halloween costume came in the mail on Friday. I decided to go with the
twister costume my roommate told me about, mainly because it ended up being slightly cheaper than any of the Alice in Wonderland costumes I was looking at. So, judging by that picture, you'd think the dress comes to just above the knee, right? Especially because of the way she's standing that makes the dress angle up a little. Nope. Definitely only comes to mid-thigh, and it's significantly shorter in the back than in the front. So much for finding a work-appropriate costume! I'm just going to wear the dress over jeans, and I may or may not end up wearing a shirt under it, depending on the weather, because it is made of really thin material. I was complaining to Brad yesterday about how they charge so much for Halloween costumes, yet they're made so poorly. I understand that they can only sell these things once a year, so it's probably hard to make a profit, but that doesn't make it suck less for the consumer.
Anyway, I also just realized that I made a dentist appointment for next Friday, Halloween. Because we're having a Halloween bash at school, I was going to wear my costume. My dentist appointment is at 3, which means I'm going to have to leave early from work and go straight there. Do I go to the dentist in costume or do I bring clothes to change into? Dilemma!
I tried to start studying for the Praxis today, using some of the materials I got from a study guide website one of my classmates sent me. However I discovered that the materials were not edited at all - there are typos all over the place, words missing, subject-verb agreement issues, really poorly constructed sentences - it's bad enough that I am really having a hard time studying from this material; all I want to do is edit it. Ugh. It makes me feel like the content is invalid or less-than-accurate, because it's so poorly put together, and while that may not actually be true, it's still the impression I'm getting, which makes it difficult to study from. Anyway, guess I should get back to doing something productive. Let me know if any of you are interested in any of the purses.
