check on type for DA40 with G1000 glass cockpit
Finally, the check on type is done for the DA40 with the G1000.
Well, the sticker is in my log book. I think I want to solo it
one more time before adding passengers....
It's a cool plane, with a constant speed prop (so one controls the
rpm with the prop pitch level and the power with the throttle, in inches of Hg).
The instrumentation is all "glass cockpit", 2 full sized lcd displays,
one for the primary instruments (attitude, airspeed, altitude, heading) and
the other is a "multifunction" display, for things like flight planning (maps
and routing etc), engine performance and tweaking, etc. there's a simulator
for learning all the features.
And it seats 4 in relative comfort (shoulder belts, rather than the 4 point
harness, and cup holders! even a jack for "music input").
