Tune : Shawn Hlookoff - "She Could Be You"
I had a lovely birthday yesterday. I had to work but my colleagues were very awesome (singing for me, baking me muffins, etc.) and I went out for dinner and a movie with Gen, Sherrie and Jess in the afternoon which was great. The movie was Bride Wars which wasn't the best movie ever but still alright. I love Anne Hathaway <3 I also received tons of birthday messages on LJ, Facebook and Twitter, and awesome cards and pressies in the mail, thanks so much everyone for making my day a little brighter ♥ Can't believe I am 25 now though, holy shit milestone age.
Alright, let's continue with my January recap. Because I have a ridiculous amount of pictures it's not the last part yet and I'll make another, separate update about the Blue Mountains and Jenolan Caves.
January 24 Jules, her parents and I left home at like 4.30am. It was so early, omg. The only times I've gotten up at like 3am before was for Disneyland and we didn't see any Mickey Mouse this weekend. Was still loads of fun though! We arrived to Tamworth about 6 hours later, in time for the parade for the Country Music Festival (big annual festival, reason we went there) which we saw while enduring the blazing sun.
Then we went to Jules's aunt and uncle (who are awesome btw!) to relax and revive from the heat before making our way into the city. We went to see the Battle of the Bands which was pretty cool. Too bad out favourite band, The Institute, didn't end up winning. They were FANTASTIC though, rocking out on stage, very energetic and original.
After dinner we went back into the city to wander around, watch the buskers and see a concert. Unfortunately the concert ended prematurely because after a ridiculously hot day (43 degrees Celsius or something, don't think I ever experienced 40+ before!) it finally started to pour down. We did end up going to the look-out point over the city and saw the sun go down, which was beautiful! Finally we went to another uncle and aunt from Jules for a bit for a drink and a chat which was nice ^_^ and then I watched like 3 eps of Kyle XY before going to bed.

Januari 25 we kinda slept in, went to the Tamworth city centre again (where I had a DELICIOUS rum/raisin ice cream) and finally visited the famous big golden guitar before heading back home (& watched more Kyle XY in the car until my laptop battery ran out--I am so addicted, omg!)

January 26 was AUSTRALIA DAY! Went to Parramatta Park with Jules and met up with Gen and Sherrie there. Saw sheep shearing and whip cracking at the outdoor station, flydog races, the new Disney movie Bolt (I love Rhino the hamster so much, OMG!), an awesome concert that even the rain couldn't ruin (GRINSPOON, EEE!) and pretty fireworks.
Didn't get home until like 00.30am on a work day, he oops. Was so worth it though. Few pics below, more can be found
