We took Emma to see "Curious George" on Saturday after all. It was a great movie. Just the way a Curious George movie should be. I'm a big Jack Johnson fan and his songs were perfect for this movie. His songs were the soundtrack and played almost continuously throughout. Emma loved it so much that she didn't make a sound the whole movie, other than the stuffing of popcorn in her mouth. Part way through, I noticed her taking little sips out of James' Coke. I figured, one or two sips wouldn't hurt. Well...apparently it way WAY more than one or two sips. James thought that I was sharing it with him. She drank half of a medium (movie theatre size) Coke! I think she was high coming out of the theatre! She whipped through the arcade at the entrance, trying everything for a second before moving on to the next. She must have crashed when we got to the car because she fell asleep and stayed that way for over an hour.
Well...I'm off to the doctor again tomorrow to make him actually read the results of the ultrasound. When we were in there on Thursday he didn't even have the results yet, but said that there was no way he was sending us for the fetal echocardiogram. I'm sure that our baby boy is fine, but if an ultrasound technician who has been doing her job for over 10 years recommends a further test, I think he should at least look at the the results. Instead, he complained about how ultrasound techs don't really know what they are doing or talking about. I found that really rude. If I have no success, my mom's family doctor might see me and get me the follow up. Maybe none of it is necessary at all, but I want to know for sure by making sure that he actually reads the results. You don't screw around with a 20 week, hormonal pregnant woman! I'm not usually a pushy person, but I've learned the hard way that patients are their own best advocates and sometimes you have to be a bit pushy with medical professionals to ensure that you get good care.
