Tyler's First Haircut

May 14, 2010 09:08

On Wednesday my little man went and got his first professional haircut. I have trimmed his hair twice - at 6 months I trimmed some wings on the left side and when he was 9 months old I trimmed the top of his ears and some really long hair on the top.
We went to Cartoon Cuts in the mall. There aren't a lot of kid's hairdressers close-by. I wanted to make sure he had a great first experience so we needed someone who was used to cutting baby's hair. She was super quick and friendly. Plus SpongeBob was playing on a little TV right in front of him. I stood by with the camera and some grapes. He did fantastic, no fussing or tears, just looked very serious (typical Ty). Things like this would be easier with two parents around, and I know Chris is sad to be missing all these milestones, but I am not waiting for Chris to be home to cut Ty's hair. Mike's (my brother) FIL gives all his grandkids their first haircuts and so Ty's cousin was loooong over-due for his first haircut since they were waiting for his grandfather to get back from wintering in FL/TX:

This is Silas, Tyler's cousin. He had a mullet!
I like him looking nice and neat. We didn't get a lot taken off, just a little tidy-up. Chris would want to take him to a barber and that isn't happening until he is older. I don't want him getting freaked out and making haircuts miserable experiences!
So we popped off to the mall and there was no wait. Ty got set up in the chair, belted in, and covered with the cape.

I am so proud of him, he did really good. Doesn't he look so handsome?

And back at home :o)

tyler progress, haircut-ty
