Chris was saying earlier today that it feels like he's been on leave. He got home from work early Friday morning and was off until this evening. Nice! He is napping now in preparation for tonight. I'm going to be busy myself tonight - prepping the nursery for painting!
Saturday we meant to get out to run errands but I had stuff to do here and we didn't get anything accomplished. I made super yummy Crock Pot baked beans and wings for a company get together that evening. It was a lot of fun and a great turn out. It was also nice to see so many people brought home made items to eat. Back at Ft Hood there would be a lot of chicken strips etc from fast food places. There was a casino theme and I got to play black jack. I was about as successful as I was in Vegas (which is to say not successful!) It was nice to see everyone, they are a friendly bunch. I got lots of belly touches but generally by people who I've met before. Oh, and there was a new mom there who was using the same travel system I registered for and she loves it. Good to know!
Sunday we had a "Sunday" as I previously mentioned. Shortly after I posted my 365 that evening I noticed Sofie was sleeping in her bed in a rather strange position. I waited quietly until after midnight and snapped a pic (waited in case I used it for 365)
You can just see Audrey in her little tent. Sofie was OUT, she didn't even move when I took the picture.
The errands and such we didn't do on the weekend were supposed to be done on Monday but we woke up to this:
We ended up with about 8 inches of snow and it was nice and fluffy. The girls had a blast in it
First tracks
Play fight
Ready to come in!
Audrey spent most of the day snoozing in the window and Sofie played outside for quite a while
Chris and I spent the day inside as well. The plows were slow getting out and there wasn't any real reason we needed to be out. I did spend about an hour combing Audrey and trimming her feet although I should trim them a bit shorter. I still have her nails to do. I made a pork roast with cranberries in the crock for dinner. We're having leftovers of it tonight, shredded with the sauce on a bun.
Today has been a bit more productive. When we were finally up and showered we took Puff in to Petsmart to get her feet and nails trimmed. They look so much better. While the groomer was dealing with her Chris and I went to Home Depot to get some paint samples. We also bought painting supplies. Here are the paints and the test spots:
In person the paint is a more saturated/vibrant/bright green. I'm trying to decide if it is too much green or if it is too bright. I like the one on the right, as does Chris.
I ran out to the post office after we got home to mail these:
to my nieces. Then I went to the commissary to pick up a few groceries.
I just woke Chris up for work and soon he'll be leaving. I'll be spending the evening taping and prepping the room. If it is warm enough tomorrow (I'll have to keep the windows open) I'll start painting. If not, Thursday looks like it will be warm and sunny.
Oh! And Baby should be here in just 3 more months!
