Very Nice Weekend.

After I posted on Saturday I took a nap. I just couldn't help it. My sleep was so messed up! I got a call around dinner time from Lisa saying that her plans for the evening fell through so she came up to visit again. When she arrived I put the leash on Puff and before I let her out I told Lisa to watch her and so Lisa got to see Sofie smile at her. She did comment that it looks a bit snarly, but how else are pooches supposed to smile? So Puff honoured Lisa and Max (Lisa's dog) with a keeshond smile.
After doing some stuff here we headed to Roadhouse where we had a great dinner. Service, food, price, was all perfect. Nothing like the experience I had at Roadhouse a couple weeks ago. After dinner we stopped by the store to get ice cream and playing cards.
Back home the pooches tore around the house playing while Lisa and I played Nertz (Solitaire Showdown) and had a good time doing in. I'd played it online with a friend before but never with actual cards. We had a lot of fun and it was really late by the time Lisa packed it in for the night.
Sunday I knew I'd be out and about for a good part of the day so I took the pooches for a nice walk. Once home I showered and got ready before having a date online with Chris. After that I headed out and down to the Austin area.
I picked Lisa up and headed to The Domain to do some Mother's Day shopping. At Brighton I picked up a gift card for Chris' sisters to give to their mom and the badge clip pendents from us to both Chris' mom and mine. They do such a good job at packing everything up! This is how they wrapped up the gift card and the pendants were wrapped in their own heart shaped tins and gift bags too.

I also picked myself up a new wallet. I needed to replace my black one as it just doesn't look right with my purses and one of the rivets has broken on the clasp.

What I really wanted to get was this pretty bracelet but I just couldn't justify spending $44 on it. They have a cute little coordinating collection that matches it too!

Oh well, my birthday is coming up soon. I wonder if I can add it to my amazon.com wish list. Nope, I can't. Poop.
After shopping we popped over to Starbucks for a drink and started playing that card game again. Lisa beat me 100 to 99. It was close though! I think I just got lucky because I'm so slow.
Before we knew it the time was ticking away and I had to go drop Lisa off before heading to Candace's place for Passover. It was my first time and it was really interesting. Candace and her friend had been cooking all afternoon and she had made so many dishes. We read the story with Candace's husband Steve leading and then ate a big meal.
People began to trickle away after and before I knew it only Candace, Steve, Misti, and I were left chatting. I looked at the time and realized that it was 10:30. When I leave my place I always have a pre-determined time that I have to be on my way home for the girls. They had last been out at 2:15 and so I was supposed to be on my way home by 9:30 (I like to keep it at 8 hours and under). Here it was 8 hours after I had left them and I still had an hour drive home! The whole way home I kept praying that no deers would run out on the dark back roads and slow me down from getting back to my dogs. After over 9 hours of being home alone the girls were actually fine and when I opened the door to let them do their business instead of running for the grass they were more interested in sniffing me! Thank goodness they were ok. They are such good girls.
I know I should be heading to the gym but I haven't started reading the book club book yet so that takes priority. How would it look if I showed up without reading it when it is my book club? I have an appointment in the morning tomorrow to get my first contacts so I may be tied up quite a while there and may not have time to read. So it is off to read for me!
