Entry #3 for today

Apr 11, 2007 14:10

I am trying to get caught up with my posting here.
I spent the weekend with my in-laws. On Friday I puttered around for a bit in the morning, spoke to Chris on the phone, then hit the road. When I got there I gave my f-i-l his birthday gift.

He loved it!

So did my m-i-l who tried the treats as well. We didn't do much that evening. My m-i-l made spaghetti for dinner and we sat around and chatted.
Saturday I got up really early to take Audrey to the vet for her annual exam/shots. As soon as we walked through the door her little tail went between her legs and she was acting very scared and nervous. This is certainly not her typical vet behaviour where she normally prances on in tail wagging and happy to see the new people. I think her trip to the vet in February for her infected anal gland must have ruined trips to the vet for her. That is so sad since she loves going. As long as she stays healthy we won't be going back for a year. Maybe before then we'll pop into vet offices to eat cookies and remember it is a nice place to be.
When I got back to the house my in-laws were just walking up. I read a bit, sent and email to Chris, and had some breakfast. When we were all ready I went with Chris' parents to do some running around and out to lunch. We went to a place called Sweet Basil Thai Bistro. It was phenomenal. Easily the best Thai I've had. You can even adjust the spiciness of their dishes from mild to crazy hot. I had my curry medium and even that was probably a bit spicier than the last Thai I had. It was all very tasty and extremely fresh. 5 stars for sure. The restaurant was really nice and most of the dishes were around $10. I wish there was a location here. I'll be making a stop there next time I'm visiting for sure.
Once we got back to the house I helped my m-i-l make some Easter goodies. We watched The Pursuit of Happyness and I really enjoyed it. The next day was Easter and I woke up to a call from the Hubby. It was nice to hear from him. The package I sent last Monday arrived Saturday - less than a week! I was excited to hear how fast mail is traveling. Even all the Easter goodies made it there fine - nothing melted/spoiled/opened. We had breakfast and got things ready for when the rest of the family came over early in the afternoon. It was a really nice dinner

and I had a nice time. It was my first holiday without Chris this deployment and although I missed him it was manageable. I'm glad that I have such a wonderful extended family here that always makes me feel right at home. We finished up family time with watching Charlotte's Web (mainly for my niece)

and said our goodbyes.
The next day I was on my way home again. By the time I got home Monday I was feeling pretty under the weather with a head cold. By Tuesday I was really off with nauseousness too. Last night I watched Marie Antoinette. It was good. Today I am feeling marginally better but my head still feels too full. At least I'm not so nauseous.
Couple more pics of Puff...
Sofie's bows after she was groomed. They only lasted a couple days but they were really cute and very girly!

I don't call her Miss Sofia Puffy Pants for nothing!
