Frick, frick, frick!

To summarize: American citizen immigrating to Canada via outside spousal. My paperwork was originally in Buffalo, but was later sent to the L.A. office. I'm currently staying with my husband up in Ontario as a visitor.

I feel like an idiot. My residential address is still in the U.S., so the Canadian Visa office people have been sending me stuff there, which is fine, because my parents are there. However, the last letter they sent me, back in April, stated that I need to send them a police certificate from my state. It wasn't until today that I got this letter in the mail from my mom and I noticed that (my mom didn't notice it either when she first received it and skimmed through the letter).

I'm doing what I can to get it done ASAP and send it to the L.A. office. Since I'm not currently in the U.S., I've sent an authorization letter to my mom to see if at the police department they'll let her get the police certificate on my behalf. I just hope there's still time and the Canadian Visa office won't stop my process. I've also just gone ahead and emailed them my husband's mailing address so I may receive their correspondence here from now on. Gah, I should have done that a long time ago...

I honestly don't recall ever seeing anything about a state police certificate in the original paperwork! I did my best to fulfill its requirements to a T. I sent in my federal police background check because they mentioned it, but if the state one was also there, I completely missed it :(

Anyway, I don't know if there's really a point to this post, other than just sharing my current worries. =/ Anyone else went through something similar?
