Supernatural Friday [5x14] My Bloody Valentine
Okay, guys... final spurt!!
The last episode before the (next) break in 2010 actually outdid my expectations...
Valentines Day 2010... a young couple just returns from their first date and after shyly kissing, she takes him up to her apartment.
The things heat up and soon they are at each others throats - like... literally o_ô
Sam: "It's when a dog doesn't eat... that's when you know something's really wrong..."
Of course this's a case for our boys and after Sam debriefed the girl who found the bodies of the two 'lovers' he returns to the motel. Dean had been to the morgue and examined the bodies. Slightly disgusted he states that they literally ate each other to death. When Sam asks Dean if he's not about to leave, picking up lonely women in bars on Valentine's Day, Dean refuses and Sam starts to worry...
Meanwhile at a office building not far away, two guys are working on a project. But while one of them is seriously concentrating, the other one continues texting with his girlfriend. When suddenly she appears behind them and the co-worker makes a dumb comment about his friends dependency, the woman takes out a gun and shoots him. She claims that they can never be together all the time, that there'll always be something between them and that there's only one way they could be together forever. Not long after that they commit double suicide.
On their way to the morgue, Sam notices a guy dressed all in black, carrying a suitcase with him. Something seems to be wrong with the guy but Sam doesn't know, what it is...
Dean *pushes a human heart over to sam*: "Hey... be my Valentine =D"
When they examine the organs of the victims, Sam discovers a mark, which seems to be a enochian sigil (once again XD) and Dean immediately calls Cas.
Dean: "Cas, it's Dean. Yeah, we're [...] in the basement level, St. James Medical Centre..."
Cas *standing right before dean*: "I'm there now."
Dean: "Yeah, I get that."
Cas: "I'm gonna hang up... now..."
Dean: "Right..."
I guess I don't have to say anything... just... OTP ♥
Okay... where were we!? ... The morgue, right...
Okay, so Cas tells them that Sam has been right, that the sign on the hearts is indeed an enochian sigil and that it stands for unison. He concludes that the culprit has to be a cupid (a 3rd class cherub, responsible for bringing couples together) and that they have to track him down and eliminate him before he continues killing other.
At a restaurant they order some food while waiting for cupid to appear when suddenly Dean pushes his plate away, refusing to eat. And now THAT'S a unmistakable clue that somethings terribly wrong with him XDDD~
Things only get weirder, when Cas asks him, if he could finish that and reaches for the burger...
But before he can take a bite he senses the presence of cupid and disappears with the words "Meet me in the back".
Castiel summons cupid but at first nothing's happening...
Cas: "This is... their handshake..."
Dean: "I don't like it."
Cas: "No-one likes it."
... but then suddenly a chubby naked man appears, hugging Dean from behind, continuing hugging Cas and finally Sam like long lost friends. Obviously Dean's more than a little disgusted by this version of cupid and immediately they accuse him of killing those couples.
And if someone said that Jared can do the puppy eyes - they haven't seen Lex Medlin (my kudos for that) do it...
Cas: "Look... we... didn't mean to... hurt your feelings..."
Cupid : *turns around and hugs cas again*
After reading poor little hurt cupid's thoughts Castiel negates that he's the responsible for the killings. Cupid tells them that he and his brothers only bring couples together - what happens after that is not in their responsibility.
Dean: "Why does heaven care if Harry meets Sally?"
Cupid *singing*: "A match made in heaven... heeeaven~..."
When he reveals that one of his brothers set up Mary and John Winchester just because Dean and Sam 'had to be born', Dean hits him (and we thought he already learned in 4x22 that hitting an Angel might not be such a good idea...).
Sam: "You just punched a cupid..."
Dean: "I punched a DICK!!"
After being called in to the morgue for another weird death, Sam spots the suspicious man in black and follows him. He attacks him with Ruby's knife and we learn that it's a demon. Sam can wound him and the guy escapes - leaving his mysterious suitcase. For one moment Sam stares apathetically at the bloody knife before he wipes it clean and returns to the motel.
When they open the suitcase a bright light seems to disappear out of it. Cas - appearing with a fast food bag - explains that this has been a human soul and that he now knows who's responsible for the killings - it's the horseman: Famine.
He seems to boost the natural desires, the 'hunger' of all people for something. Apparantly Famine's power is also affecting Cas or rather Jimmy, because he's craving for red meat.
At the same time we see Famine arriving at a "All you can eat" restaurant (lol for the neon sign in the back XD) and all the people there start eating, drinking and lusting til they're dead...
Back at the motel, Sam finally confesses that he's feeling hunger for demon blood again. They decide that it's too dangerous taking him with them and Dean chains him up in the bathroom (God, Dean... even a child could've broken this cheap chain... ¬_¬)
At the morgue Dean and Cas learn that the nice coroner who helped them before is dead. He had been dry for years but the last night he just went home and drank himself to death :(
Cas senses that his soul is still in his body and they know that soon a demon will come to take the soul to Famine, who needs more souls to be strong enough for marching across the land with Lucifer and the other horsemen.
Dean *staring at the fast food bag*: "How many is that?"
Cas: "Lost count... it's in the low hundreds..."
While Sam is getting weaker by the minute and tries to escape the chains, Dean and Cas observe the Medical Clinic, waiting for a demon. Cas, of course, is eating burgers all the time and states that "these make me very happy" XDDDD~
When the demon appears with another suitcase, they follow him to the restaurant...
Sam: "Wait your turn..."
At the same time two demons arrive at the motel, intending to bring Sam back to the restaurant to meet Famine. But Sam can't resist any longer and wounds the female demon, drinking her blood and then probably killing both of them (we don't actually see that, I'm just assuming...).
Meanwhile Dean and "Happy Meal" (Cas XDDDD~) have come up with a plan. Cas will go in, cut off Famines ring finger (like they did it with War's ring in 5x02) and then come out. Before Cas goes in he asks Dean, why he thinks he's been unaffected by Famine's powers... Dean obviously doesn't know either and just guesses that he's 'well fed'.
After Cas left and nothing's happening, Dean follows him in and discovers his friend on the ground, eating raw meat like an animal ;___;
He get's captured by Famine's demon bodyguards and finally meets the horseman himself.
And now it's Famine who asks him why he thinks he's been unaffected by his powers. Dean just smirks and claims "I like to think it's because of my strength of character". Famine touches him, looking inside him and then reveals the heartbreaking truth...
Famine: "That's one deep dark nothing you got there, Dean... [...]
You're not hungry Dean, because on the inside you're already... dead."
That's when finally Sam appears, exorcising the demons around them.
Famine tells him that he's on the right way, that he's almost how Lucifer wants him to be... Sam tries to exorcise Famine but he's a horseman and no demon. So he just kills the demons Famine swallowed seconds ago and... IDK... guess he kills him by doing that?! I have to admit, I didn't quite understand that °___°;;;
Cas: "That's not him in there... not really..."
Dean: "I know..."
The next scene shows Dean and Cas in front of Bobby's panic room... Sam's screaming and suffering inside... Cas claims that Sam just needs to get the demon blood out of his system, but Dean doesn't want to hear it and leaves the house on his own.
"Please... I can't... I need some help... please..."
And for a moment I really thought, he would say 'yes' and leave us crying and screaming just like Sam until March 25, when Supernatural will retun ;_;
God, I really thought, this episode would be so much fun and... the thing is... it was. It was so funny in the beginning... and then it got so exciting and finally ended so tragic, so heartbreaking T_T
I love being surprised like that... I thought it would be a good episode and it turned out to be an amazing episode... makes it even harder to wait til March...
But on the other hand... when SPN returns there's only one week left til Jus in Bello Con where I can watch the show LIVE with all my friends!!
