Ooooooh yes... just... YES!!!
This week's episode simply rocked - I knew it!!!
I'm having Goosebumps over and over again...
There has been so much love, so much drama, so much terror in this episode!
And jJust so you know... my two most used words/phrases in this episode were:
"Bitch!" and "Dean is so handsome!"
Aaaaaaand there we have colors - means: dream XD~
And I suppose we all knew that this fishing-dream from 4x20 wasn't really what Dean usually dreams about, didn't we?
But while Dean is enjoying his version of "peace on earth", Anna appears and gay-crashes his entertainment.
"This is what you dream about?"
"..... this is awkward..."
We learn that since Cas betrayed Anna, she had been in heaven's prison. She apparantly broke out and wants to meet Dean ASAP.
She names him an address and disappears.
When Anna arrives at the industrial area it's not Dean or Sam who's meeting her - with his usual kickass entrance our favourite Angel Castiel enters the stage.
Castiel assumes that heaven sent Anna, but she negates. She broke out to do what has to be done - Sam Winchester has to die.
He is the only vessel that matters to Lucifer and therefore needs to be killed - nothing else is working out, neither the search for God or the usage of the Colt. Castiel refuses to help Anna and tells her that if she comes near Sam, he will kill her.
"The answer's still no... because Sam is my friend."
Anna disappears and the next moment we see her landing on the bonnet of a car.
Obviously she travelled back to 1978 - where Grease is the word =D
Meanwhile Cas is doing a ritual to find Anna, because he thinks that she won't stop looking for Sam and they have to kill her before she kills him. He finds her in 1978 and says that he will travel back in time to kill her. Dean and Sam want to accompany him but Cas tells them that time travel is not that easy and with passengers and without the connection to heaven it'll be much harder.
"So what, you're like a Delorean without enough Plutonium?"
"I don't understand that reference!"
But in the end Cas can't refuse anything to Dean and he sends the brothers back to 1978.
Apparantly Cas was right that time travelling would weaken him, so Dean and Sam get a room for our poor groggy Angel before they head to their parents home.
Gooood, they're such a cute couple ;O;
OMG, I love Amy Gumenick and Matthew Cohen so much!!
But back to the review... *coughs*... err... where was I?! Yeah... Sam... poor Sammy ;_;
He never actually met his mum and seeing his parents young and alive obviously moved him very much!!
Sam and Dean introduce themselves as cousins of Mary's and John offers them to stay for dinner, cause he never met any other members of Mary's family. When he gets a phone call Mary asks the boys to leave. She is done hunting and doesn't want John to know about her past.
Dean tells her that she is in danger and that she has to trust them. That an Angel is after her... she finally believes them but as they are about to leave, they notice that John is already gone.
It was actually Anna calling John with the voice of his boss, convincing him to come to the garage where he works.
Anna attacks John, planning to kill him but Dean, Sam and Mary come to his rescue. Dean tries to hurt Anna with Cas' Angel-killing knife but she's much faster and Dean meets up with his best friend - the wall XD
"Sorry, it's not that easy to kill an Angel..."
Instead Mary goes for the knife and manages to hurt Anna with it and a tire iron - before Anna can counter-attack her, Sam draws an enochian sigil on the wall and sends Anna away.
After that they all get in the Impala and John drives them to a secret hideout of Mary's family. He's shocked about the recent events and needs time to handle Mary being a hunter all of her life. At the hideout Mary and Sam strike out to angel-proof the cottage.
John asks Dean to show him how to draw the enochian sigils and when he hears that they have to be made with human blood, he doesn't hesitate to cut his own flesh. Dean smiles sadly and tells him, that he remembers him of his dad...
Later Sam seeks out John, to check the sigils he made. John asks him why he's doing all this and Sam tells him, that "his father" raised him into this. John is shocked how anyone could do this to his kids and Sam - he defends his father. He says that he hated him for what he did to him and Dean - but he finally understands that he was just heartbroken about "his mothers" death and that he just wanted to protect his children.
"My dad died before I got to tell him that... I understand... why he did what he did... and I forgive him for what he did to us... and... I just... I love him."
Meanwhile Anna meets up with an old... well... let's say 'friend' of ours - may I present to you: the much younger but nevertheless asshole Uriel (seems to like black vessels... how cute...).
She tells him she has an order for him - he needs to kill some humans, which would kill him in the future (dammit you manipulative bitch, it was YOU who killed Uriel!!).
"Our names are Dean and Sam Winchester... we're named after your parents... when I would get sick, you would make me tomato rice soup... because that's what your mom made you... and instead of a lullaby... you would sing 'Hey Jude'... that's your favourite Beatles song..."
Back at the cottage Mary demands answers to her questions. She beseeches Dean to tell her why an Angel wants her dead and finally he tells her, that he is her son. And that he's come from 2010 to save her. That she musn't enter Sammy's nursery on November 2, 1983. That she has to take him and Sam and that she has to run and never look back.
Mary: "I raised my kids to be hunters?"
Dean: "No... no, you didn't..."
Mary: "How could I do that to you?"
Dean: "You didn't do it... because you're dead..."
But then Sam enters the room and tells her that it won't be enough. The demon would find her, wherever she'd go. There's only one way to stop all this - Mary must leave John. If she did this, Dean and Sam would never be born and the Apocalypse probably would never get started. But Mary negates and tells them that it's too late - she already is pregnant.
At that moment John enters the room and warns them, that all the sigils are fading away. Only seconds later we hear the typical sound of the Angel's talking and the windows burst. Anna and Uriel appear and Sam and Dean try to fight them but they have no chance. When John tries to reach the Angel-killing-knife, Anna throws him through the wall of the cottage.
John remains motionless when suddenly a bright light appears over him. And I swear to you-know-who - for a moment I was all like "Please don't let it be God, PLEASE DON'T LET IT BE GOD Ò___Ó!!!"
In the meantime Anna knocked out Sam by stabbing him with a wooden stake and is about to kill Mary. But when John appears right behind her we all know, that he's not John anymore. And when Anna addresses him as "Michael" me and my fellow friends (who were watching the show together via Videochat) were all like "OMG OMG OMG they're really doing this NOW???"
Michael steps forward and before Anna can say or do anything he lays his hand on her chest and kills her. And WOW!! I mean... WOW!!
Now THAT was spectacu-lacular XDDDD~
"Free will's an illusion, Dean... that's why you're going to say 'yes'..."
After Michael knocked out Mary with his little Angel-finger-trick, Dean tells him to heal Sam immediately. But the Asshole Archangel seems to think, that it's a good time for a chat ¬_¬ He tells Dean that there is no free will and that this all has been planned since forever. That Dean and Sam descend from Cain and Abel (and I mean, COME ON!!! Who - at this moment - did NOT think that Kripke now finally lost it XDDDD~) and that it has always been their destiny, to start the Apocalypse and to be the vessels for Michael and Lucifer.
"I'll see you soon, Dean..."
Finally he heals Sam and sends him back to the present. He repeats to Dean, that he has no choice and that he will say "yes" - and that they'll meet again soon. Then he sends Dean back, too...
Dean: "You son of a bitch, you made it?"
Cas: "I did... I'm very surprised..."
Back at the hotel of the present time Castiel suddenly appears - and I have to say, I'm really pissed at Dean for just leaving him there Ò__Ó!!
I mean... hello!? That guy Angel risked his goddamn life for your little back to the past trip and you just leave him there!? Okay, there's not really something you could do but you could've been at least a little more worried than this buying-alcohol-and-frustration-drinking-thing you did...
[/PISSED OFF]
"That's it... Team Free Will - One ex blood junkie, one drop out with 6 bucks to his name - and Mr Comatose over there... awesome..."
Cas of course is totally exhausted and falls asleep immediately (great job for you this time, Misha - being asleep or groggy and hurt almost the entire time XD). While drinking Sam questions that they never say "yes" to either Michael or Lucifer... because they don't know what's coming and maybe Michael is right. Maybe there is no free will...
The episode ends with pregnant Mary and John in Dean's nursery. Mary bought a small porcelain Angel which is sitting right above the cradle. When little Dean gets itchy inside her, she shushes him and with a soft smile on her lips she tells him:
"It's okay baby... it's all okay... Angels are watching over you..."
And that? Gave/Gives me goosebumps over and over again... so terribly sad T_T
Maryyyy~... God, I looooove Amy Gumenick so so SO much!! She is just wonderful!!
After all this episode was just awesome... it had everything a good episode needed and it finally brought the whole apocalypse-storyline forward! I just love Amy Gumenick and Matthew Cohen, I love Misha Collins (of course) and I love this whole time-travelling subject!!
Of course the whole thing is not very sophisticated and traceable - but remember... it's Kripke and the guy seems to do whatever he wants lately so... let's let him do it, as long as Sam and Dean and Cas don't get seriously hurt ;)
Can't wait for the next episode, though - the webclip looked like buckets of fun ♥ ♥ ♥
