Firefly: Serenity / Neil Gaiman / sunlight photos

Saw Serenity tonight with friends. Tis awesome - the plot's a bit thin, but handled quite nicely, and there are tons of great moments and one-liners. I think I'm going to have to see Firefly at some point now...

Also, I got a ticket reserved for the Neil Gaiman reading on the 9th of November, after much calling of Waterstones - I called twice on Friday, with no answer after five minutes' of ringing, then a couple of times without answer on Monday. The third time on Monday, I got an answer, and was immediately transferred to another line which (guess what) nobody answered. Finally after a couple more fruitless calls, I got hold of someone who was very helpful, listened to my plight, and took my details in case there was nobody else on the other phone. There wasn't, but after a minute or two of waiting, she came back on the line and said she'd reserve a ticket for me to come and collect. So, thank you mysterious Waterstones person.

So, I shall be turning up in Edinburgh quite early, to go collect my ticket. If anyone else is in town, give me a buzz - 0773 8273 503 =)

Also, a few days ago, it was a gorgeous sunny day, and I was stuck inside doing Java coding for a group project. I was stuck for ideas, so I took a wander outside, lay down on the long bench in Rottenrow Gardens (which is just outside the Livie Tower where the computers labs are) and took some photos.

I also got a photo of something that's been amusing me since first year:

"FIRST FLOOP". I don't know why I find it so funny - I guess I'm just easily amused.

Random other images:

These guys don't screw around with the silicone glue. I guess they're making up for forgetting to glue the battery down the first time.

Our new home. The hallway is surprisingly spacious - I'm actually standing near the middle of it, so there's several meters of space behind me. Not very comfortable, though.
